All Welcome
Sunlight scattered across the face of the glacier, pinks and golds and ruddy orange. It was like the ice fields had stolen the sun and buried its fire beneath its shell. A glow like fire streaked the space beyond the mountain, and stars would soon unveil themselves from the cover of day.

There was nothing so full of colour in the caves of Red Sand. Those pits which stained you shades of red, which had taken weeks to wash out, the same reds he watched unfold on the ice field here. But they were lovelier here, even though they delivered him to times of choking darkness and suffocating walls.

He breathed easier within these lupine fields, and allowed the memory to be rewritten.

Dwinn had gone from witnessing "the big and vast water thingie" to an equivalently awesome scene, which was called for the time being "the big an vast ice thingie". She had almost not come here, because it had seemed that there were better prospects at hunting down South, but lured by the scent paths of the wolves, who inhabited a nearby forest, she had wandered further East. Because it was also true that, where there was traffic, there was more likelihood of finding garbage as well (read - remnants of food and meals).

She had been somewhat lucky in that sense - had found enough morsels to live by, but not enough to feel full. If a week ago she had looked thin, now the imbalance of exercise and the food intake was more prominent. If it was not for her thick and plush winter coat, she could have applied to become the next Twiggy-type fashion model with ease. A coat-hanger physique - all edges and no curves. Good thing that Dwinn was not bothered too much by her looks, because, what mattered to her, was the world on the outside.

The majestic ice fields filled her mind with enough excitement for it to forget that she was still very hungry. Then she noticed another traveller in a distance. And as she was used to by now, she called out to the fellow: "Hey! Good day to you! What brings you here?" And then she approached the other to have a better look, but from a safe distance.
