All Welcome
AW <3 tags for ref or possibly for joining, up to y'all! assuming some stuff here too, let me know if i'm out of bounds!

Many things were happening, that which little Maggak was still much too young to understand.
New people came to the village Moonspear — there were the harsh sounds of wailing, and the air was thick and groggy with a despair that seemed to go right over her head. When she peered from the ulaq, there were bodies flitting to and fro, all around her; and in this time she clung unwaveringly to brother @Acrux.
Birthmother @Sialuk and milkmother @Elentari were, perhaps, busy with the fresh faces; the two little lumps of russet and charcoal that now sat at the bellies where Maggak herself once did. And simply put, she did not understand. Where had they come from? Did she now have more siblings, more brothers? They smelled foreign, of something salty and yet also metallic.
But if her mothers liked them, she, decidedly, liked them just as well — the way she saw it, they belonged to her now. And so she sits at the opening of the denmouth, keeping guard on stubby alabaster legs with an exaggerated scowl.

Sialuk felt numb even as the two smaller, squirming children fed at her swollen stomach. She longed to sing the death songs, but she could not leave them here. Her voice would come later, once her nephews were older and more capable. The moonwoman would teach the songs to Maggak and Acrux so that they could mourn the passing of an aunt they would not meet.

The mother watched as Maggak moved to the edge of her small world, but no smile came to the village leader's face.

Keeping guard was a lot more boring than Maggak had expected it to be. As she watches the foot traffic from the ulaq, her eyelids flutter and the fierce expression of protectiveness had begun to fade as the muscles in her pudgy face relax.
Her jaws stretch into a pink-tongued yawn and snap shut; blink, blink, blink; and she turns her head to look back towards birthmother. She looks sad! Why does she look sad? A-naa-naa! Maggak mewls, followed by a tiny chirping noise and the pitter-patter of her paws. She stumbles closer, nostrils flared into a big sniff, before she decides to climb halfway up her shoulder and nestle into the ruff of her neck.
There would be no sadness here if Maggak had anything to do with it. Ama.

the arrival of his new denmates had marked a milestone in the young boy's life. it had been the first time he'd felt some volume of fear. fear of the unknown, of the somber weight in the air, of the restlessness that now clung to the ulaq. it frightened him, and as a child he clung to the familiarity he knew. to maggak, to mothers.

eventually when the panic eased, he settled, and in this in he buried himself against the new bodies smaller than himself. he knew them only to be family now, and in this he found comfort. brothers — this is what they were to be.

it was only the sound of his sister's voice that stirred him, and he slipped free of the two feeding babes to wiggle himself towards the coos of maggak. his eyes gave a few drowsy blinks before he spotted sister snuggled against mother. she spoke again, and this time acrux parted his lips to join in the symphony.

"aaa-aa. aaa-nnaaa."

i have some notes on the familial grammar on sialuk's wiki page if y'all wanna check it out! https://wiki.wolf-roleplay.com/wiki/Sial...ationships

most of it comes from this reference: http://ankn.uaf.edu/ANCR/Aleut/Atkan2/adjunct.html

Asxinung, she breathed, watching the small version of herself with anaa's eyes move away from the mouth of the den and waddle toward her. Hlanang, she whispered to the boy who had come from Elentari's body, but was just as much her own. He moved toward Maggak. Hlaning, she said to the two nestled closest beside her.

Soon, all four were tangled within one another, and Sialuk felt some semblance of peace for the first time since the youngest duo had arrived. Her children had accepted their new brothers, and for that, she could not complain.

There are words that come from birthmother that which Maggak had never heard before; at least not like this, never so clearly. Her head tilts as her nose pushes into the alabaster cheek. Anaa?
She looks down to the two little lumps once more, and then to Acrux, who joins the call! Ha-nan, her stubby little paw reaches for him in a point; the consonants don't quite tumble from her lips correctly, and they feel awkward. Ha-nin?
She sprawls out her two puny forelegs; the cogs of her brain spin and turn before her eyes widen. B-braa-dan!

they sung, and mother sung with them. the comforting vibrations of his parent's voices were now able to be mimicked, and he felt a joyous burst of energy at the idea he was just like his mothers. "aaa-aa," he called again, tail wiggling blissfully behind him.

maggak extended towards him and he took the opportunity to reach out for his pale counterpart. "sii-taa," he answered back, a burst of giggles escaping him at the sound of his own voice. "siiiss-tanng," came his voice again, and with it a wide smile that echoed his high spirits.

Anang Sia, Sialuk cooed to them both, her name to them a simple two-syllables. Braatang Acrux, she said, nudging her son. The dark boy then cooed his sister's name, and Sialuk beamed. Â! Sistrang Maggak! Her tail thudded against the ground, fully enjoying the process of her son and daughter learning their names, her name, and how to communicate with not only one another, but with her as well. It was a slow, tedious process, she knew, but already she could feel a stronger pull on her heart toward the two children.

Taatang Argent, she said, pointing to where he most commonly slept, Anang Ele, for the babes' co-mother. She watched them with bright, curious eyes, her ears alert for more parroted words that might tumble from their mouth.

Acrux. Maggak. Sia. Ele. Argent.
Maggak points then to anaa, eyes wide and sparkling with wonder. See-a! to Acrux, she tilts her nose, a bobbing motion with her head. Aaa-cruk! to the empty spaces typically occupied; Argib! Ele!
And then, herself, as she tumbles downward and flops to the denfloor flat on her belly. Maga? was that her name? Mooga! now, she was just making things up, a ribbon of giggles unfurling in chorus with her brother. Acook!

more names and words were introduced to him, and he felt as if his world had grown drastically. mothers, father, sister — they each had a name. he had a name! "aaa-ruck," he practiced as his sister went on to repeat all the names before them, his voice quieter than hers. "aa-rux," he tried again, and although closer to how his mother had said it, he wasn't quite there yet.

he took a pause from himself to listen to sister speak, her own name being practiced too. "magaga," well that wasn't it, but hey, it was close enough. he joined her laughter and drank in the happy energy surrounding their family.

They took turns sounding out the words, and Sialuk felt a small moment of relief from the tragedy that had struck the moon villages. The cycle of life, death and birth, would make the world whole again in time. She nosed the two smaller children at her bosom, knowing that one day they would know much about their mother. Sistraa had many kin who would share stories with her children, and she would live on in this way. It set the starwoman's heart at ease, somewhat, though it still ached with each inhalation.

The children were a welcome distraction, and Sialuk craned her neck out to give each one a playful lick on the top of their heads.

last from me <3

Anaa gives kisses, that which Maggak happily returns with a blep of her little tongue against a pale forearm. Which, then, turns into a gummy mouth edging the curve of her wrist. Her tail swings into a joyful thump, ears splaying outward — she, somewhere in her, knew she was not meant to be doing this!
She coos wordlessly for Acrux, a sudden return of her prior drowsiness now hitting her like a semi-truck. Snuggle! She crawls up up up until her body tucks neatly into the curve of pale, motherly shoulder — expectantly waiting for braataa to join her. And then, once comfortable, she watches the lumpy babes with burning eyes until they can stay open no longer.

last from me as well

laughter settles into a peaceful bliss as a kiss is placed atop his head. he squeezed baby blues shut just as the coo of maggak ushers them back open. he wasted no time in wiggling himself near to the comfort of mother and sister, aiming to bury himself as deep into their embrace as he could go. and it was there he settled, the earlier excitement of words morphing to calm stillness.

he parted jaws to give a yawn, eyes bouncing from one body to the next until eventually sleep enveloped him and dreams took hold.

Sialuk watched with wonder as they snuggled against her. First Maggak, curling herself against a shoulder, then Acrux, making himself a spot between them. They yawned, and Sialuk felt sleep coming to her as well. Together, they would rest in the blissful realm where nothing could harm them.
