Firefly Glen Phosphorescent

there were reasons for arcturus to come here, not all of them illicit. the glen had been a favorite of his father's -- sometimes, when he felt the mountain was weary of supporting his weight he would come down to the lowlands, and sit among the stars that swam above an endless plain. here he could dissect and unravel his thoughts, and piece together parts of his life that so often, simply refused to fit.

he found wraen here, as he prowled among the white-veiled glade. at first arcturus thought to turn quickly, to hide his trepidation -- for he still was boyishly wounded that wraen had not met him at firebird's gates. the moonlight was not so insufficient to hide his form entirely -- no sooner had his shadow spilled before him, did he realize he was plain to see.

"wraen." arcturus offered, drawing close yet not so close; the distance he cared to put between them spoke well of his newfound, irrational, and confusing feelings: why had she deigned to ignore him? who else was she seeing?
