Valette offered him a kind smile. She was glad that he wasn't offended. It seemed that he understood her situation. She was definitely willing to figure out if it could work between them but then she would want it to last. If she would get a mate then it would be her last. Then it was just not meant to be that she had a mate. She realized that she had been doing quite alright so far. She had managed two litters on her own while caring for a sick mate and keeping up leading a pack. She realized that this might not be normal. But how great would it be to have someone by her side that could help her with that.

"I hope it won't come to that," she admitted quietly to the male. She didn't want to give him false hope but she genuinely wanted him to know that she was rooting for him as well, as strange as that sounded. Then again, for once she was going to follow logic. She would need to make sense of everything which might take awhile. She would not blindly follow her heart. "Thank you for telling me," she spoke with a smile.
