Limit Two
bloodbath in the sound, dark wind on the rise. sobeille’s mind was made as she sunk teeth unyielding into his skin.

she dragged him bloodied and limp from ankyra’s doorstep to that of murkwood. if he protested, he earned a kick; if he fought, he was immediately subdued.

under the gleam of an early dawn she placed a paw upon @Tousaint’s skull and pressed him hard against stone. her voice lifted for the stupid bitches that took half her family while she held him there, the rage in her stomach transmuted to something incorrigible and beyond reining in.

please let tousiant post first! for @Nox <3 backdated to the week of march 20th

Anger swept in with the unexpected force of a rogue wave, only to be forced to remain at bay as this was all a part of the plan.

Then came regret, and it was a flash flood that came when he began to break from the pain. He raised his voice only to find the dam that had held the river of his sister’s pent-up resentment was potentially broken beyond repair.

Fear seeped in like moss and mold, growing slowly and steadily, breaking down his crumbling foundation of conviction.

He learned not to protest. And his pain was too great to think perhaps she had abused his suggestion.

His face was swollen, each eye swollen nearly shut, his cheeks striped with blood that dribbled down from each torn ear. His shoulders were dappled with puncture wounds from her fangs, and welts rose in the skin along his ribs from violent kicks that had bruised his ribs, in the very least. His once beautiful tail was broken and left hanging at a mid-point, a mast shattered by a cannon that was held aloft now only by the ropes that kept it from falling into the sea.

He gasped and lay with his teeth grinding together, chin pressed into the hard earth. He felt the press of each claw into the bloodied fur on his forehead, digging into the headache that threatened to send him into the darkness.

A cry from the borders drew the Captain from his work.

He arrived panting, the look in his eyes a wild and desperate search for one of his missing crew or perhaps even the gone girl Erzulie. Instead, his attention snapped to a woman, pelt aflame in the rays of a rising sun. Nox regarded her stiffly for a moment, still pantherlike and largely hidden among the shadows of bleeding trees.

"I'll give ye one chance t'explain yerselves before I'll have ya lookin' like him." A bark-like growl accompanied the man as he slithered nearer. What was she doing at his doorstep? And who was the ugly bastard beneath her? The stench of blood was intriguing as it was repulsive, and the Captain made his displeasure known with a steady rise of his bristling tail.

so this was that grimy boatswain’s captain. sobeille’s apprising gaze swept over every aspect of him; the oily sheen of his fur, the dark umber in his molten gaze. his thin-legged posture had an arachnid quality to it and she wondered, abstractedly, how easy it’d be to subdue him.

i ‘appen to know dis — she shoved tousaint forward, lip curled in disdain that even he would be hard pressed to read the legitimacy of. is one of de rats dat escaped when you raided. the tip of tousaint’s broken tail caught her eye, but she turned back to the sea-lord.

a gift, from your neighbor. in that moment, her gaze glittered — envisioning her den gleaming with strands of unstrung intestines.

A voice came first from the waning darkness. Blood formed a crust beneath each nostril, tampering with his sense of smell. Swollen eyelids prevented Tousaint from seeing anything more than the man’s feet as he approached, but he noted that the man moved with caution. It was only when he was thrust forward that he tilted his head to glimpse and recognize him as the one who had come to steal some of Sapphique’s most prized gems.

His breath rattled and gurgled. He coughed and grimaced from the pain in his ribs, settling his head back against the ground. The earth was hard and cold beneath his chin- but harder and colder still were the words of his sister.
