All Welcome
@Niamh ? but AW ofc, feel free to join <3

tegan had only seen his friend in passing since their journey together, so he thought it was about time he sought her out to be annoying again-- it was what he did best. he also kind of wanted to plan a trip exploring, and maybe he could get her to come along again. exploring was really cool but he sort of liked doing it with a buddy, and niamh was pretty dope. plus mom liked it when he didn't go alone and blah blah blah.

on top of that, tegan was pretty positive that niamh had what it took to be one of his bitches, maybe. something about her was appealing, so tegan was gonna maybe up his charm so he could at least keep her around. or like, practice on her, or something. i dunno-- he doesn't know, don't look at us like we know.

so he took to the borders, where niamh typically was, tail waving and tongue lolling as he wandered along. if anything, he at least looked busy.

Though she was tired, and her thoughts had become tangly and confusing from her concussion which seemed to be worsening day by day, Niamh took to the borders to patrol as often she had before the entire Screech incident. She caught the scent of a coyote which had traipsed across the borders and growled softly to herself, and began to pursue the scent, hoping to catch the fiend and give it a run for its money. She wouldn't have any thieving coyotes stealing their food, hunting on their land or endangering the pups- and if she let this one go, then she knew others would follow it into their hunting grounds.

She perked her ears when she heard another wolf approaching and paused, waiting to see who it was- when Tegan came into view. Her tail waved and she trotted toward him, jutting her shoulder up against his and nipping the top of his spine as a friendly greeting. "Hey. Wanna come help me chase a coyote out? I found his tracks- he passed our borders not long ago, I bet we can track him down and give him a good ass-whooping."

hell yeah! there she was, the lil bitch. pleased that he found his friend and potential broad, tegan's tail waved happily in the air and he began towards her with a little hop to his step. "yo!" came his formal greeting, returning her physical gesture with a bump to her chin with his nose. and then as niamh shot into something to do tegan found himself quite disappointed. sounded like work, he just wanted to come dick around with his friend.

but, okay, fine-- anything for his hoes.

"i'll tag along," tegan offered with a quick nod. this answer meant two things-- sure he'd come and sure maybe he'd help, but it probably wouldn't be much help. just, knowing his track record when it came to fighting and shit. "lead the way, b," he then said with a dramatic bow, a foreleg tucked up against his chest.

ohgawd I can't even. The way you write the non-speech part of Tegan's posts just kills me every freaking time! <3

While Tegan didn't seem terribly interested in her goal of chasing down a coyote- which seemed like a helluva lot of fun to Niamh, considering she'd been taking care of a non-verbal invalid for quite some time now- he at least agreed to come along. Personally, she was hoping for a bit more enthusiasm, but then again, she knew she shouldn't have been terribly surprised. Tegan seemed like the type more content to hang, rather than actually go do something, unless it was something within his area of interest. She remembered how she'd practically had to beg him to spar, and how he hadn't exactly put 100% into it when he had decided to give it a try. She would have been pretty far off had she been asked what Tegan would give 100% for; she would probably have died from laughter if she found out it was something along the lines of herding hoes.

She snorted and gave him a wry, skeptical grin when he bowed to her, and called her B. She flicked her tail from side to side and shook her head. "B? What kind of nickname is that? My name starts with N, dude," She said with a small laugh, and began moving, trying to suss out exactly where he'd gotten that one from. What did B stand for, anyway? Was it some term he'd come up with? Or did he mean Bee? She was yellowish, she supposed...And figured that maybe he was simply referencing her coat colour and the fact that she worked a lot.

"oh my goooood," tegan groaned, rolling his eyes, "no you whackass, it's shorthand!" duh niamh, jesus christ did you grow up under a rock? he rolled his shoulders, gearing up to explain properly, ugh, it was like talking to towhee. towhee was such an old head.

but so they began their move forward, and tegan had to explain on the go. but quickly, cause they'd prolly find that coyote bastard pretty soon. "so b is like a shorted thing for bitch, but like not in a bad way, like in a friendly way, like 'ah shit! whaddup b?'" he proceeded to bump niamh in the shoulder with his paw playfully, to further emphasis his point. "get it? i know your name starts with an n, sheesh."

he eyed her, tail waving a bit as he judged her reaction. err, whoops, this probably wasn't the correct way to pick up hoes... was it? he tacked on, trying to fix it, "i only call wolves b if they're like, ya know, right in my book." there, saved, i bet she's swooning.

AH ty that means so much <3 <3 he's such a lil bitch to write i love it

Always with a flair for the dramatics, Tegan’s reaction to her question was a bit over the top, but she was used to it with Tegan by now anyway. Tegan didn’t have a dial down switch, he was just always set on blast which might have put off a stranger, but it simply rolled off Niamh’s shoulders.

So while his reaction gained very little response, his explanation made her raise her brow and give him an incredulous look. Bitch? Really? That’s what he was calling her- albeit in shorthand? She chuckled finally, and shook her head. ”You do you, man,” she resigned, knowing there was no discouraging Tegan.

well now he was mildly discouraged, since niamh didn't appear to think this was a compliment(i don't see why she wouldn't??).  but, whatever, tegan would never let that show. so he merely shrugged at her response that made her seem indifferent-- which sucked, cause that was his favorite tactic and he did not like it used against him. but his shrug made him seem indifferent to her response. so HAH.

tegan is literally never going to find any sort of side chick with his typical methods, and he was starting to realize it too. these were much better for charming strangers into being friendly and getting mom and towhee to agree with anything he had to say. not good for picking up girls. he'd have to reconvene with colt later and get another lesson on pick up lines, or something.

he removed himself from the topic that he was failing at and moved on, nose twitching. they continued on for a short minute and then... "it's here--" he started, realizing the scent was suddenly right on top of them only to spot it right away. he froze in his tracks, cause even though tegan was sort of trash at caring about hunting, he had been properly taught at one point and knew better than to just sprint in. besides, he'd let niamh take the lead on this since it was her area of expertise. he looked at her with an expectant gaze, ears pricked and muscles tensed as he awaited to be told the game plan.

or wait... were they literally just about to fuckin run the bitch down??

He quieted down, which was fortunate- as the scent trail they were following became stronger and she froze when she saw it in the distance. Tegan lifted his head and commented, and went still as well. She watched it for a moment- it was blissfully unaware that it was being watched, at the moment. Though she was still tired from hunting continuously for both herself and Screech, she had no reservations about running an intruder out. She felt Tegan's eyes on her, and crouched slightly, before she sprang forward.

She was silent when she lunged, closing the gap between them and the coyote, but as soon as it turned its head and saw her approaching, she snarled. She didn't merely mean to frighten it away by growling from a distance- this coyote had it coming and in her opinion, the damn thing was asking for an altercation by traipsing into their borders. In Niamh's opinion, that was a criminal offense- and she was quick to deliver justice.

It tucked its tail and made to skitter away, but Niamh had closed the gap too quickly for it to leave unscathed- and if she had her way, she'd make sure that if it left at all, it would leave with a few injuries to punctuate her point. She didn't watch for Tegan- she attacked swiftly, without hesitation. She snapped at its haunches and managed to slow its process, initiating a brawl. The coyote turned to snap at her, but she would certainly not back down.

niamh gave no instruction so tegan really had no idea what they were doing-- no plan or course of action. but hey! whatever, he usually acted solely on impulse anyhow, so this was totally in his comfort zone.

his friend sprung forward, snarling and sprinting at the asshat creature full speed. tegan, knowing how to run and growl, did the same thing but from a different angle. niamh lunged and snapped, forcing the coyote to do the same, and leaving tegan a wide open gap since the guy was pretty preoccupied. he rounded from the other side, holding his place and snarling. as soon as niamh lunged, tegan would do the same thing.

The coyote still skittered sideways and away from Niamh as her onslaught continued, but it balked when Tegan joined her, and its retaliations became futile. With two wolves growling and snapping at it, it seemed to know its chances were slim to none, and rather than continuing to protect itself, it simply stopped snapping back at Niamh and began to bolt toward the borders.

Naturally, this was not enough for Niamh. She was larger and taller than the coyote, and had come in close enough proximity to it so that even when it did bolt, she was hot on its heels. She growled and snapped her teeth as it ran with its tail between its legs, but the damage that had been done to it, thus far, was minimal. Niamh had tension to get out, so she put on a small spurt of speed and collided with the escaping coyote, bowling it over. While she didn't intend to kill it, necessarily, she did want to rough it up a bit, and began to snap at its flailing legs as it tried to get back to its feet.

omg omgomg-- as niamh ran up closer and closer, hot on it's trail, tegan was gearing up to fuck it up!! niamh finally launched herself forwards, and when she and the coyote went down, tegan lunged from the side. niamh snapped at it's flailing legs-- one of which gave reagan a nasty kick to the chin, where he accidentally bit down on his lip. fucking, uhm, OUCH. now officially pissed thee fuck off, tegan went straight for the god damn throat.

honestly who knows if it's even possible from the angle he was at cause i really can't figure out where he'd be in regards to this scenario i'm so sorry-- but through some crazy tegan magic and then help of niamh's jaws which was greatly distracting and in theory a bigger threat than tegan, he latched his teeth onto the throat of that coyote and bit down HARD. and then blood. hell yeah fucking blood-- that wasn't his own, either! all the while the coyote was also snapping at his own face and neck so like, somehow tegan just got really lucky. dumbass.

Having bowled the coyote over, its underside became vulnerable, but Niamh had more or less wanted to maim the coyote and let it gimp off, perhaps as a warning to its comrades- but when Tegan darted in and went for its throat, she figured they may as wel cut the losses and kill the damn thing. She was surprised and impressed by Tegan's audacity- she hadn't expected him to want to kill the coyote, given how he'd been pretty tame when it came to sparring before, but now she saw a different side to him, and it won him a few brownie points.

The coyote snapped at him and she willed him to hang on- meanwhile, with its snapping jaws blocked by Tegan's head, she went straight for its vulnerable underside, intending to gut the creature where it lay squirming and flailing on the ground. Even if Tegan did let go, the coyote would not recover from one wound or the other.

eventually, whether it was the amount of pressure tegan had on it's throat or niamh doing whatever it was she was doin down there, the thing went limp. tegan gave one good hard shake of it before spitting it onto the ground with a loud growl. "fuckin thing!" tegan exclaimed with a heavy shake of his pelt. his mouth was pretty covered in blood, tegan was not the cleanest of all attackers, but there was now also a pretty big cut in his lip-- it was pretty visible.

"fuckin look a'this shit!" he said, going cross-eyed in an effort to see the mouth that was a good few inches away from his eyes and therefore forever unseeable by him. but he fuckin felt it!

There was a certain exhiliration that came from making a kill- especially when it was one made in order to protect the pack. This coyote was the closest thing to a wolf that Niamh had ever taken down, and while it felt strange to take down a fellow predator, this wasn't something to be respected- this was a trespasser, and not a wolf, either. She tore at its underside, spilling blood and pressing in with her muzzle to disembowel it, but once the creature went still, she stopped. No need pulling at the insides of a coyote that was already dead.

Tegan let go, and lifted his head, revealing a bloodstained muzzle and a torn lip. He tried to look at it, and she gave him a smile. Killing the coyote wasn't something she would have expected of Tegan- but it was attractive nonetheless. She chuckled at his comment and nodded. "Pretty badass." She affirmed with a nod, licking the blood from her lips.

his eyes uncrossed and he gave his attention fully back to niamh when she spoke. badass. well shit girl, aww. his lips turned to a smirk, his tail wagging, all previous agitation quickly faded. "you think so?" he asked, ears pricking. he fought the urge to say 'i bet mom will think it's cool too' and then shrugged. "guess i can't do anything about it now-- you wanna bring this fuckass to the cache?" he asked. you ate them, right? you ate everything if you're a wolf, tbh, so probably.

"nice takedown, by the way," he added with a charming little tilt of his head. how precious.

She knew it would inflate his ego- but honestly, she felt he deserved it. She snorted at his question, brow furrowing and a wry grin crossing her features. "Shit yes," She said. She was probably encouraging something that would inflate and grow and later make her regret telling him he looked badass, but that was a problem for later Niamh. "Gnarly." She commented. Yeah, she'd definitely kick herself later for puffing up his ego, but it was a reward she felt at the time that he deserved.

Niamh, naturally, was game to eat almost anything she killed. So when Tegan offered the idea of stowing the coyote away in a cache, she nodded. Others might have some reservations about eating a coyote, but she certainly didn't. While she figured it might taste odd, being a meat-eater, it'd be food, and food wasn't something she often turned down. To his compliment, she tilted her head back at him. "Nice kill, dude." Finally- she could see him as something other than how she'd perceived him before.

"bet," was tegan's final response to the badass comment. hell yeah it upped his ego, but you could literally look at tegan with a stone cold gaze and be like 'you're a worthless sack of shit and everyone hates you' and he'd fuckin pop you some finger guns and laugh without a single bruise to his ego. so like, hardly a loss, niamh.

"thanks, dude," tegan returned, bumping against her. tegan really had no problems killing or eating a coyote, dude really had some whackass morals-- or lack of morals. not a single thing about killing the coyote registered with him. whoops. so, he bent down to pick the dead guy up and looked to niamh with a aight leggo kinda look, and then they set off.
