@Zephyr
Sorry this took so long! <3 I'm really excited for these two to meet!
Morena grows from a rolly-polly puppy into a tumbling terror in only a few short weeks, though it's never more obvious than when she sneaks out when no one's looking. She knows Papa and Mamma and Mamman would all prefer she stay in the den at night, but there's something about the cool evening air that calls to her, and she's helpless to resist every time.

It came as a surprise to absolutely no one that she'd gradually shifted to an almost entirely nocturnal schedule, and while she sometimes had her parents' company, tonight she was alone. Morena hadn't wandered far, though. Only to the same clearing, she'd first met Lainie and then Helios in, some weeks prior. It was a nice, big open space, and there was a clear view of the stars above, absolutely captivating the pup as she gazed upwards and hummed softly under her breath, completely absorbed in the lights just like she always was.

His eyes flutter open to darkness, crusted and stinging with the touch of cool, damp air, and he sucks in a ragged breath. Helios? I — His voice hitches, dying when he's met only with darkness. Alone. He scrambles to his feet, ignoring the bolt of pain through his leg, and realizes he'd fallen asleep at the outskirts of the territory. Stupid. He swallows and winces, belatedly registering the aching dryness in his throat as it sticks to itself, and tears fill his eyes. Weak.
He blinks them away, shaking his head a little. Shut up, he pleads with himself, turning to find Helios, or dad, or someone. The sudden movement leaves his head spinning, blood pounding in his ears, but he doesn't stop. He moves faster, finding comfort in the drum of his paws against the earth — and, more importantly, silence. Desperate for relief, he ignores his leg's protests as long as he can bear, until the crackling white-hot feeling forces him to halt, and he realizes in the same instant that he is no longer alone.
His gaze finds the dark pup settled just ahead quickly, and his heart drops into his stomach. It seems to smolder there, burning a hole through him as the girl's scent registers and the dots connect. Bile rises in his throat, and he takes a step back, ears flattening. You — His hind legs seem to buckle beneath him. He sits abruptly, suddenly struggling to catch his breath, and for several minutes all he can do is watch her and try desperately to ignore the echo of Maman's scream all around him.

She wasn't alone with her thoughts for long, and that was probably a good thing. Her mind had a tendency to wander farther than she could track on her own, losing herself in staring upward until someone knocked her out of it. This time she was still mostly aware of her surroundings when she heard the running steps, her gaze drawn toward the sound while she lifted her nose curiously.

It was another of those sibling-scents, one she hadn't met before, so Morena wasn't afraid. At least, not until they came into sight, and she saw them falter. Her ears pricked forward and then laid back, concern slowly rising as the sibling-stranger spoke, and then sat and looked at her like there was a monster behind her. She checked, just to be sure, but the clearing was still empty except the two of them.

Are...you okay? Except that's maybe the wrong question because they definitely look not-okay. Morena takes a few hesitant steps closer, not wanting to overstep but still drawn forward. Can I help?
