it was duskfall when she emerged from the tunnel, the night sky far brighter than the dark crevasses she had forded. it was the third tim he sylph had gone by these routes -- once to explore and meet meldresi - the second done by the ankyrian wolves in times of war.

caiaphas came by dark design once more;  she had learned these wolves had something of hers. only caiaphas would believe a whelp she had never met was hers to claim - only she would stalk purposely across the valley towards the woods with bold intent writ so clearly across her face.

she approached  the juncture in which she had first met meldresi and threw back her head in a summining howl for the black wytch. unknown to her, it was not meldresi who ruled this grim bosk. all the same, her howl was high and proud and likely heard by all the black forest held dominion over.
