As the wind brushed through her fur Laurel shivered and watched him tensely, but he showed no sign of caring. He must care, she knew, but the fact he didn't immediately start hitting on her made Laurel feel more secure abusing the power she now held over him. Thank you, she said with an appreciative smile as she stepped forward. She took the quail and stepped back a few steps, then put it on the ground and started eating it -- she ate messily and eagerly, betraying how hungry she'd been. She contemplated declining his offer but really, her sister and their children could use the food, especially with useless Tadec in their travel party.

When he returned she had already finished the quail he'd given and was waiting. He brought her another which she dragged away once more, then started eating his own a little away. Thank you. That was delicious. I'll bring the other one to my sister. She considered leaving right away, but there was an instinct that bothered her to play with him a bit more. He seemed very stoic so far, so she wasn't sure what more she could get from him. Looking around, there wasn't a lot she could think of. She didn't want a repeat visit tomorrow for more food, she didn't see anyone he could fight with for her. Nothing, really. What does he look like?
