Swiftcurrent Creek Closing in

They he been traveling forever and the young pup was in awe of everything she saw. When they had arrived her dad said to not mention her mother and she couldn’t quite pin point why he said that. 

Those thoughts were short lived as were most she thought about as a grasshopper hopped on her nose. “Hey!” As she exclaimed the little guy hopped off and she trotted after it.

There are other children within Swiftcurrent Creek now. Helios is uncertain how feels about it. Everything must be shared, including the attention of his siblings. The first born feels fire in his chest, and tries to swallow the strange feeling down. His tail snaps side to side in irritation. Trotting along, he does not expect to see an unknown pup, closer to his age than the newest additions to Swiftcurrent. She does not smell of their pack either.

« Who are you? » French flows freely off the raven boy's tongue. He approaches with his tail curled upwards, standing tall despite the ache in his sickly body.

She was chasing her grasshopper when another wolf came towards her. Speaking a different language so sh thought to introduce herself. “Hi I’m Minnow.” She said as she lowered her body a little to the floor. “We came visiting auntie.” She said quietly.

Helios remains dominant in posture, even as the gal answers his question in a roundabout way. Her confusion makes it evident that French may not be a language she knows, but she is right in her assumption. Minnow. Helios stares down the edge of his nose at her, tail flagged upwards.

‘Auntie’? He repeats—never hearing the word before, and not knowing what or who it meant.

He seemed to not know the word and she wondered why he was so hostile. All she wanted was a friend. “My daddy’s sister.” She wanted to mention the name but at the moment she couldn’t remember. It was right at the top of her little tongue.

Protective of the pack, and Minnow being one that Helios is confident he could take care of should she be a threat, the raven boy remains steady and strong. Alas, she answers his question again with ease. So ‘auntie’ means a sibling of a father?

Who? He presses for further information.

She struggled to remember the females name and then looked at the sky stuck in thought when it hit her. “D..dawn” The young one tried to say it the very best she could hoping she was right.

It's rare that the sprite isn't shadowing Helios, but of course, it hadn't lasted very long. He's following his brother's trail now, nose low to the ground as he hurries through the territory, and he's certain he's close by the strengthening scent. Then another scent hits him — foreign, unwelcome — and he freezes for a moment. Overwhelmed by a strange, heated feeling he cannot name, he starts again at a run without another thought, following the scents until his brother comes into view — along with a strange pup. A stranger. Snarling as fiercely as he can manage, he bolts toward the girl, aiming to fling himself against her and hopefully knock her to the ground. He doesn't really have a plan for afterward, but he's very certain that this is the only appropriate course of action.

Dawn, that’s a name he knows. Hm, for now this Minnow is… confirmed. Although Helios is determined to take it to his parents—it is strange for a child to be wandering around without the pack’s knowledge.

Ears flicker, however, at the sound of approaching footsteps. At first, he assumes it is Zephyr about to barrel into him. Yet hostility is pointed at Minnow instead. Ugh.

Striding forward, the raven boy does his best to intercept, and attempts to catch the smaller pup by the scruff before Minnow can be touched.

He kept quiet and by the look on his face he knew who she was talking about and the girl gave a subtle smile until confusion coursed through her as she saw the other pup running towards her and she attempted to move out the way.

Scruff caught between the elder son’s jaws, Zephyr twists from his grip. A look of betrayal crossing the silver pup’s face left Helios retreating from his hold. It soon after that Zephyr charges off in a different direction—a tornado wreaking havoc, and gone in the blink of an eye. Helios does not cast Minnow even a glance before he, too, takes off in the direction Zephyr went.
