Muat-riya’s young warrior was escorted to the hebsut’s quarters this morning. She was a child, but already showing so much promise, her commitment to her chosen trade a clear indicator that the girl had outgrown her position as cub.

Her eyes upon the young guardian are bright with admiration as she enters the room. She gestures for her to sit and Eset does so herself opposite @Safiya.

“You have shown so much dedication, a willingness to learn, and wisdom beyond your years, Safiya,” the hebsut compliments warmly, opening up the room for the cub to speak.

Mother had made sure that Safiya was well groomed and up to par before she was brought before the hebsut. She had told her speak only when spoken too and be polite. So she held this in the corner's of her mind. But as always there was no fear in the girl. Only a slight feeling of anticipation and a small bubble of joy when she realized she maybe getting what she wanted. Hopefully.

Safiya dipped her head. Thank you Lady Hebsut Eset.

A small smile at the praise and a dip of her tail from side to side. But she kept her daddy's stoic stance. I just want to be sure I Do it right.

Okay I am unsure what the proper way to greet her is. So if you can let me know I'll edit this one.

“Just Eset, between us,” she smiles, fighting away thoughts of how a daughter of her own might have carried herself. There would come a time for formalities, but between them hebsut reaches for rapport now with the pupil.

The girl’s giddiness is infectious. She feels her own stance soften in response. “You would have more opportunities to learn if you were to take the rank of mazoi; guardian of Muat-riya. I would like to offer you the position, Safiya, if it interests you.”

She watches now the young face as she lights with joy.

There was a quaking feeling. One that made her paws shake. Something that she would come to know in time was adrenaline and excitement.  Her parents would probably not like her to call the leader by her name. So she smiled and nodded. Sweetly.

A soft little gasp. Really?

Then a deep wave of her tail and a small dip of her head. Thank you very much. I would love to take on the rank of Mazoi. I appreciate it.

She was shaking harder now. her tail wagging and a light in those sea green eyes of hers. She was going to be what she wanted. She didn't have to serve as Fellahin. Not that there was anything wrong with that. She just did not feel that was what she wanted.

Her own head shakes with a delighted nod, Safiya’s glee recalling every feeling of fortune when Toula had first accepted Eset among their ranks. It was Pharaoh who graced her people with possibilities and the ability to rise in station and prosperity, and this the hebsut would enact on her behalf within the lower palace.

“You are a pride of Muat-riya, young mazoi,” the girl’s teal eyes glitter. “Your father and Meseba will be your mentors. They will train you in the ways of a protector and a soldier.” For Safiya’s muscle and fang would be used in both defense and attack.

“Soon you will go to Akashingo. There, you will be beneath the command of the jodai,” Eset’s voice sharpens, “but here, you will do as your father instructs.”

Safiya couldn't wait to go tell her parents. To beg her father train her more now. She was ready to leave, but she must be respectful. She must listen.

Safiya was not big, but she was determind. And Meseba himself had told her, it was good. She could turn the tide. She could make them be surprised. This was good yes?

Her ears perked upwards. Akashingo. That was a place that was removed from this one. She knew part of them was there. That they existed only because of the palace, but she had only been there once. And her recollection was foggy at best. Dark and a little noisy.

Yes m'am. She nods firmly. SHe would do what her father deemed.

“Go forth, mazoi,” she grins, releasing the eager girl with a wave of her muzzle, feeling that something was made right.

She would return then to her work, and would look forward to seeing Safiya at her newly appointed post.

A grin as wide as she could muster and a genteel wag of her tail. Truly she wanted to hug the woman, but her parents would have a fit. After all one did not comport one's self in such a way.

So she bowed deeply and walked as quickly as was plausible towards the door. Eager to share her good news. She was already thinking of all the ways that she could train.
