All Welcome
tags for ref!

it was she. it was @Nutuyikruk.

that was all — for now. @Makono and @Hex, they would return. her faith kept sunyellow eyes sharp and bright.

to be just them deterred muskrat from nothing. they spent much time together, she teaching the girl to prowl and to spar, to drop down on animals and to practice the same descents on the swamp panther herself.

today she stropped her paws idly against the earth, peering toward the vale and wondering if it would be wise to depart their ridge for a few hours, to hunt outside the shadowlands.

restlessness.

the need for violence where none was needed. she could cause it, she could pierce her teeth upon any figure she found.

she looked down into the plains towards where the sun would set upon a red palace.

she could find what she wished for. only she tasted her warrior lover upon the breeze and instead of plunging below, she danced along the ridgeline.

her voice a crooning note.

the eagle.

shadowland drew her closer; royal one beckoned her into a silent run, one which dappled muskrat in light and hid her again in the darkness cast by ancient trees.

they stood before one another. sunyellow eyes gleamed. "i welcome you back." and her ears wanted to hear it all. it would be as if they had not been parted.

welcomed back, that pesky stray dog that lived in the vessel of godhood.

what different were feral beasts compared to hungered gods?

something in those sunflower eyes stirred the hunger, the longing. the shadows of the mountain wanted to craddle makono into it deeply. no eyes upon her but those flowered ones. jewels to be treasured, to be held. the eagle found she wanted nothing more than to kiss her, but felt too uncertain to press upon it.

why?

teasing in her voice, the trained talents of her father shined brightly through her now. her good eye offered only brightness in its depths that betrayed (or perhaps humored) the hunger within.

she wanted to kiss her.

it felt maddening.

muskrat padded forward on slow feet, closing the distance between them until she was watching the royal one with many things standing there in her eyes. "because here you belong."

shark's-teeth glittering; she kissed the top of one pale foreleg, moving upward until her chin was tilted to see the tactician auraed in darkness. "ñuqawan kuska."

a light laugh; muskrat sprang backward, inviting the pale warrior through the tilted trees of the sharp mountain for a run she felt they both needed.

she was vines and thorns.

royal eagle held in place by the bidding of the mountain panther. it was hooded eye of an old and ancient jewel that watched the kisses. it was the cupped ears of a politician that listened to the drawl of foreign words and how they stirred something within her.

and the mountain panther was gone, dancing with laughter that lit the shadows.

her pace was quick and pointed. a knife wielded for this always. again and again. her teeth snipped the air between them and the sounds of her breathing were heavy.

her own jaws glinted sharp and ivory. they sailed as one between the spires and overhanging trees, up the mossbound ridges and down into the shadowed gullies.

only when her lungs felt fit to burst did she slow, leaping lazily toward her eagle as if to overtake her down a ledge of greenery, into a pile of leaves below.

they had done this time and time.

each time she found herself being set on fire. she did not think it was love, but she wondered if her father had felt this each time he held a wife. a lover. if that was why pleasures were not so restricted and it was understood that love was a death sentence.

oh, yes, these fires very well might drive one into a dizzying madness if given the chance.

she had not realized they were already doing such to her.

her shoulders met leafy ground and her legs sought to grapple muskrat close to her. to show her how much her absence had meant she missed the sharp coywolf.

gonna fade this <3

breathless; voicebound.

limbs twining like snakes in silken nightfall shadow.

muskrat, winding their tones together.

never forgotten. never forgotten, her sacsayhuamán.
