Dread filled Floki from his head to his toes as Wildfire moved in to join the battle against the great beast. He opened his mouth to protest, but no sound came out. If she was injured and still found it in herself to contribute, then he knew that he needed to muster all of his strength and do his part.

Swallowing hard, Floki made his way quickly down the slope to where the bloody scene was unfolding. It was hard to distinguish wolf from bear as his packmates tore at the ursine from all sides. They had the upper hand simply because of their numbers; otherwise, the bear would have overwhelmed a smaller group easily. He didn't have long to contemplate his course of action before the animal went down heavily and ceased its struggle, lying motionless on the ground just feet away from where Floki stood.

He found that his knees were shaking and took a deep breath to steady himself. As he did so, Dash suddenly surged forward and took a bite out of the bear's ample stomach, driven by anger and wolfish instinct. Floki shifted his gaze to the two Alphas, awaiting their reaction as his nerves settled.

She expected a blow of some sort, fear twisting in her stomach even as she clenched her teeth. None came, however, and when Wildfire eventually opened her eyes again, the bear lay dead before them. With a gasp, she released her grip and stepped back. She blinked at the hulking carcass for a long moment, then whipped her head around in search of Floki. He stood nearby, unharmed. Something loosened in her chest and she took a step toward him, even as Wildfire's amber eyes roved over the others.

"Nishu," she hissed, gaze lingering on the battered wolf. He should have listened to her, yet Wildfire didn't think of that now. "He needs help!" Wildfire barked to the rest of the group, mindless of Dash's move to feed. Wildfire could use a medic herself; her head was still pounding something fierce. But Nishu needed medical intervention much more urgently than she did.

The bear was finally defeated. From the looks of it no one was critically injured. It was strange to know that none of this was part of a plan yet everything seemed to work out fine. It started with Wildfire climbing up to some hole. He could guess that she had no idea the bear was there and ending getting trapped by the freezing rain. He wondered what would have happend if he wasn't there. He didn't think too much on it, perhaps they were lucky to get a result like this so instead he should be thankful.

That was easier said than done. His whole body was radiating in pain. In way he was glad it was him that had to bare this heavy pain. The only problem was that this pain was unbearable and he wanted to believe that that's all there is to it but something was telling him his injuries are far worse than what others could see on the outside. He heard Wildfire's concern for him.

"I'm fine.. It's.. nothing I can't handle." He said tiredly. For some reason he felt so out of breath. He felt like coughing but this time he resisted. Nishu didn't have the strength to move, all he could do was stand on three legs. Just standing felt so exhausting. He strongly wanted to sleep and he'd do it right here in the ice cold rain while standing too.

Before that he wanted to request something from the Alphas, something he should have done long ago. "Amekaze. Charon." He called trying to be as loud as he usually was but he lacked the energy and ended up coughing up blood again. That hurt but he still wanted to say what he needed to do. "I have a request.."

He didn't want to wait too long, he needed a place to rest and recover. Just maybe, this time, he'll ask for a bit of help too.

In the heat of the battle, Charon had forgotten about Nishu; until Dhole called out his name with an urgent and high-pitched note to it. He reacted, turning to look at Nishu, who could barely stand at all. He looked in pisspoor shape, and though he probably should've felt empathy, Charon mostly felt resent that it was Nishu that had drawn out the attack. It was like he always needed to be in charge, and now he would pay the price for it. He didn't voice any of this outwardly, though, for he understood the severity of Nishu's wounds and that it'd be inappropriate to question his actions at this time.

Ears perked forward when Nishu called out his name, unexpectedly intertwined with Amekaze — for the first time Nishu addressed him as Ame's counterpart, in his right place, which mellowed out charon's resentment a little. Nishu uttered that he had a request, and Charon neared, casting Ame a brief glance in wonder. "We should get you somewhere safe to rest," Charon countered, "Then we talk." He didn't have much faith that Nishu'd follow his words on it, and maybe he would still utter whatever request he had, but as things were Charon understood the necessity to get the pack mate to safety, no matter what his own personal feelings were. He nipped at Nishu's side, then stood beside him to support him, should he find it hard to keep afoot, and to get him inside whatever nearest shelter to rest up.

A relative calm settled after the bear fell. She felt a buzz among them, though, one charged with worry. Some earned less concern than others but they quickly began to sort themselves out. She had known right away that Nishu was not well. Nothing about him suggested a wolf untouched by the worst outcomes of the fight. Wildfire, too, as she was reminded when she called his name. Ame shook her head and whined again, ignoring the sting in scratches as she forced her muscles into motion to close distance between her and Nishu.

She had no appetite, but would be sure they used the resources they could gather here, so it wasn't her focus right now. All she had to do was shoot a look towards the wolves eating already, hoping they'd catch the hint to keep scavengers (or worse, another bear) from finding this one way or another. She was mainly focused on Nishu now, but with Wildfire and the others hovering somewhere in the edges of her worries.

He had addressed them both, the alphas exclusively, and her brow furrowed with confusion -- what could he be requesting now, of all times? If what he asked for wasn't a place to rest and the attention of a medic, then she had no idea what was appropriate now for a wolf coughing up more blood than she knew was safe. That alone made her very nervous about his well-being. Coughing up blood, let alone that much of it, often meant fatal injuries to her experience. She'd seen it before, and wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again. But she'd certainly be listening to whatever it was he had in mind by this request.

She nodded on the tail end of what Charon said though since she agreed wholly that they couldn't stay here, and moved to Nishu's side opposite him to help support if needed. More up close, the knight's injuries were no better and still only offered a vague telling of what had happened here. Whatever it was exactly, he'd caught the worst of it. Ame would wait for the full story later. For now, the priorities were different. They had to get him out of the rain. "An overhang is not far that way," she said with a gesture. It would give him some dry space at least..
