averna lurked out of range; astara's melonii gaze caught the sliver ghost's for but a moment before ikkalrok bore down upon her.
she grunted under the force of the blow, feeling her hind legs scrape against the stone and grass as the bear nearly knocked her down. a roar sounded from the colossus, one that drowned out nearly all save the maddening, shrieking fury in astara's brain --
the blackbird flew for the woman's jaws, intent then to put her down and let her children drown in the bloodspill. her teeth flashed as ikkalrok turned to meet her, wincing as the bear's teeth dragged ruthlessly from cheek to lip, cleaving a brilliant pink line which resembled some gruesome eternal grin. astara's senses were overwhelmed by agitation and adrenaline, but it did not slake the pain that violently bid her attention.
