Ouroboros Spine BWP: TSS angels overhead

Seal traveled with @Sialuk on an errand to Moonglow. With a pep-in-her-step she walked alongside her leader, who she considered an aunt. Seal was soooo excited for Sialuk’s babies to be born! She couldn’t wait!

After they had arrived, Sialuk left to talk to Kukutux. Seal began to explore a bit until she spotted a familiar face from the story-time gathering: @Ajei.

“Hi!” Seal chirped without an ounce of hesitation. “I remember you!”

Suddenly, a cacophony of noise made Seal look skyward. A flock of a hundred white swans flew overhead! Seal had never seen any bird like them! Her jaw went slack in awe.

Ajei was moving through the pack lands.  Not really paying attention to much of anything.

But she lowered herself when a strange face came. Her ears to her head. She didn't know this one. She had kept staring at Arrluk. They all had, it was upsetting couldn't they have seen they were making him uncomfortable. But beyond that she didn't know her.

Oh. Uh hi! she chirruped back though a little more hesitant. But before anything else could be said birds began to fly over head. 

Ajei lowered her shoulders further, but watched them with wide green eyes. Heart birds she spoke quietly. they make
Hearts with their mates.

“Heart birds?” Seal echoed as she watched the gaggle fly gracefully overhead. She tried to imagine them making hearts with their mates – but she couldn’t wrap her head around the idea? “How do they do that?” she asked with a perplexed expression.

“Do you know where they’re going?” she queried next. Maybe they would land soon and Seal could get a closer look!

Ajei nodded. She wrinkled her nose. Oh you know they got them long necks and they like put them next to each other. It forms a heart. But they can be dangerous if you get to near their babies.

Ajei watched them and blinked. Probably towards the lake. They like water.

Ajei moved forward and chewed on her lip. We can follow them a little, we have a lake on the packlands.

She hovered near and then moved closer, her movements wary and unsure. She didn't know this girl . I'm Ajei.

Seal’s wide expression telegraphed her awe as Ajei described the swans. Lovely and dangerous – wow, what amazing creatures! It reminded Seal of her Ma’m and Da.

“Can we?!” Seal asked – practically begged – to get a closer look at the waterfowl. Moonspear didn’t have any lakes to host such magnificent birds, so this was a rare opportunity!

“Ah’m Seal,” she exchanged.

Ajei smil3d. She was glad she could share something thecgirl delighted in. Swans were commonplace, though not this many.

Yes. She motion3d for hercto come along a small smile shared. And then Ajei began to lead the way to the lake. Like Raq and Arrluk had done ao many times. A little wary of Seal she found her pleasant enough though.

Seal sucked in an excited breath and followed the smaller, red child. “Lead the way, Ajei!” she exclaimed, excited.

She walked side by side, following the flock overhead. Then, practically overflowing with anticipation, Seal began to run!

At first they were doing well, walking side by side. Ajei was enjoying the quiet pace. Then the other jumped forward eagerness in her paws. 

Ajei's ears tucked to her head and she shook it.

Wait! Seal you scare them!

Ajei wanted her to see them, not scare them. But it was okay.

When Ajei warned that her boisterous approach would scare the swans, Seal immediately slowed down.

“Sorry!” she whispered as her boy posture began hunched, a sheepish grin on her face.

Slowly, they crept through the foliage until the lake was in view. There, hundreds of beautiful swans gathered and swam.

“Look!” Seal gasped.

Two swans bowed their elegant necks together and created a beautiful heart.
