Barrow Fields singing the symphonies of the overdosed

Thetis's return has Nereus in high spirits this morning, and the promise of a new discovery has inspired a rare energy. The hawk clearly has something to show him — something that must be rather far away, given how long she's been gone. I wonder how long it'll take to get there, He says idly as he and Alaister follow her, eyes dropping for a moment as they start to burn from staying fixed in the sky for so long. He blinks, seeing colorful, shadowy shapes over everything. What do you think she found?

Thetis returns. Their ragtag gang reunites, and Alaister had his fun of questioning the hawk of her whereabouts when they actually needed her. Safe to say, she hadn’t been amused. Yet she’d found something. The boys are hot on her trail, else they end up with a bald spot from all the fur she’d pluck out in anger at her rebellious children.
Hopefully not another shiny object. The strange, circular item had the bird much too fascinated—Alaister had been intrigued at first, too, until he learned that it bites back and the cut he’d gotten on his gums was less than pleasant. Who knew tin cans weren’t food?

The days after meeting Aiolos had her strolling up the beach in silent contemplation. A respectful boy, and yet, not even one of her own blood. He had been nothing but obedient, in the same way Nuka had been happy to join and help the little group, or in the same way Orochi seemed dedicated to making the lands his. The outsiders were not so outside as they seemed- and often, issues came from those that she had seen as the most trustworthy in prior times. Ruò- with her wild outbursts and rampant disrespect. Ying- they had healed, somewhat. But things were still tense. She could feel the disrespect for the empress floating on the girl like a heavy cloud, and each time they spoke, her trust for her lessened. And so, she had to think. Away from home. 

Here in the northern fields, she sees in the distance two figures who seem to glow with an otherworldly light. Youthful boys, chatting in light-hearted voices- and a bird? Curious as she was, of course she would approach. They seemed nice enough at first glance- and she was beginning to wonder if she ought to make home into a hub for wanderers, rather than the people she once thought she trusted. They seemed to follow the creature, and for a moment she thinks of pretty Lumiya and her little companion. It had seemed strange at first, but became endearing, and she had begun to understand why a wolf would keep a little friend around. Hoping not to startle them, she lets out a gentle chuff once a few yards away, tail wagging amiably in the air behind her.

Aiolos hoped to not let her stray too far on her own. Between Ying warning that some of the women in the lands already being pregnant, keeping those others un their heat from leaving and Hua of course being Empress, the fiery wolf felt it only right to keep on his toes and follow suit after her scent. 

He trailed a bit behind, allowing her to hold her own privacy and yet the soaring and the cry of a hawk caught his attention. To the skies he saw the bird and then soon he would take note to a pair of boy yearlings, soft and delicately coated in creams and blonde. Hua made way, wagging happily at the pair and Aiolos found himself quickening his pace to keep up with every intention to guard his new queen. He woofed in turn as well, coming along to Hua's flank, remaining so a pace back so she could take charge as she should.
