at last the evening came, the evening that was the dawn of the third awakening. conception, life, now eyes to see the world, dark lashes fluttered open suddenly like something startled from a dream. blue glass scoured fiercely across the den, around herself, the puzzle pieces of all she had been feeling fell into place. so this is where she drank, so these are the bundles she would bump into with dark nose. things made sense rather suddenly, and she stared at her siblings most awed, not yet even considering the existence of her own unseen flesh.

Woah, waking up sure was weird when your eyes actually opened. Murky blue gaze scanned around the area, and Haoming squinted at the newfound light, as dim as it might have been. Gross. That was a bad thing, she thought... but there was too much to see to hide from it.
The mottled girl yawned and stretched, then peered around, one eye - the one that would turn red in the future - squeezed shut against the offensive evening light. There were others here - little forms in a dirty room. How strange.

While her littermates explored the world through newfound sense, little Luli remained blissfully unaware. She remained blind entire, stuck only to rely on touch, taste and smell.
It was the price to pay for the early delivery of such a weak puppy, and she was lucky to have survived this far. Stunted, Luli was destined to forever be behind her much larger, greedier siblings. They would thrive where she could not, though to simply live would be the greatest challenge of all.
She remained tucked close to her mother, hungry but fearful to drink with all the movement around her.

Excuse. Been drinking.
He had returned from another venture on the mainland looking for Ying, only to return empty pawed. With a sigh, he walked with a slow, heavy pace, moving along the island mindlessly. Soon, he came upon the densite which Hua and her pups reside. He hadn't meant to, had not even know where exactly her den was with how much he had been gone. Though as he came the red wolf sniffed curiously at the opening, seeing the small forms of their pups, their glowing eyes and so searched for Hua who likely (unless she had gone out to pee or eat) would be within.
Empress?He called out delicately.

Unbeknownst to the young boy, half of his litter awoke that morning with the sudden development of a new sense: sight. Similar to little Luli, his eyes remained sealed shut, oblivious to the happenings going on around him. When he awoke, he relied, still, on his sense of touch—it guiding him towards his mother’s belly, where he eagerly sought out and latched onto His Teat. Before long, he was drifting off back to sleep, his grip unwavering.

I TOTALLY missed this, omg, sorry yall!!!
She awoke to movement and the gentle voice of Aiolos. Huā blinked awake similarly to her children, and immediately she looked to them... two with eyes opened now. The second and third born. Her gaze flit to Luli and Xiaoqing, who remained blind... interesting. So they did not open eyes in accordance with birth order...
But soon she recalled the voice she had heard while awakening, and wanted to greet him- but the children were latched to her stomach, and she couldn't exactly stand up and leave the den.
Aiolos,She murmured,
Hello.

they wiggled and shifted, some stiller than others, none as interesting as the giant that fed her. after some time of staring she grew bored, and as her mother made some sound which she could not understand, she curled tightly against her, content to suckle again- this time with blinking blue eyes.

If Haoming were more aware, she'd be pretty pissed at the stranger for approaching and getting their mother's attention. As it were, the mottled girl didn't care at this particular moment, and like her sister, just went back to suckling against her mother's stomach. The anger would come later.
There was too much energy all around her. It coursed through the atmosphere within the whelping burrow like pulses of electricity, and sensitive little Luli picked up on it with ease. She shook with the discomfort at her mother's belly even as her siblings settled to nurse, overwhelmed by hunger and uncertainty and fear.
Unsure how to handle it all, the koi did what she did best: she parted her tiny jaws and wailed.

There was stirring, the whimpers and grunts of pups, the soft voice of Hua. His head keeps low, amber eyes peering within the dark confines of the den.
How are you feeling? He asks, his lips forming a tight line as he feels a bit awkward. His ears flatten to the sudden cry of one of the pups and he takes a step back.
I...He mumbles, trying to be now hushed for the sake of the children.
I havent found Ying, yet...He informs and suddenly feels a need to get going again. He shouldnt be here along with the Empress and her children. It wasnt his place.

I feel okay,She lied quietly. She paused when Luli wailed, leaning down to whisper gentle murmurs in her ear, willing her to fall back into peace. Hearing from Aiolos that Ying was still missing was disappointing, but she wasn't especially surprised, and just sighed.
It is okay, Aiolos. We will keep looking... we will... find her.Huā murmured, trying to nurture her own hope too.

Gonna make my closing for this since it's old a dirt.
We will- every moment we can.He agreed, hoping the words, if anything, might help to sooth his Empress and her worries.
I'll get you something to eat, okay? After all, at the moment with the children seemingly fussy, he didnt think she would get to stretch her legs anytime soon. He waited a moment for dismissal and then padded off to dig through the nearest cache.
