Njord was an attentive father towards Erzulie’s brood of fast growing pups. He often circled back multiple times a day to deliver prey to the nursing queen. Summer’s bounty was fruitful, and there was no shortage of small game to provide a hearty supper.

The seafarer was on his return trip with a fat vole when a troubled, screeching cry made his heart somersault. He kicked into a sprint and wheeled towards the den. His gaze hunted for danger, but only saw the rolly polly Sobo flailing on the ground at the mouth of the burrow. His mother, @Erzulie, had already begun to comfort her pup, but Njord nearly spat out the vole onto the ground as he began to asses his upset son, sniffing him all over to find out if he was injured or sick.

The warm smile of an experienced mother glowed from the queen’s face as she reclined back. Meanwhile, Njord tried not to panic. “Shh, shh, it’s a’right, Dinna Fash… yer Da’s here, Sobo,” Njord cooed as he licked the pup in an attempt to remedy whatever ailed him, oblivious to the bug beneath him.
