All Welcome

by now, silvertongue would have referred to crowfeather as papa and ash paw as mama several times; by now, the sharpfang hoped @Shadowpup had begun to think of her only as tia plata: auntie silver. discovering that she wanted very much to retain a familiar title, she felt this was a compromise for both herself and riverclan. the irony, she thought that day as she toted both pups to the sluggish river toiling along a pretty wildflower bank, was that germanicus should also have been here all this time, rearing them. "mira las luciérnagas!" she gently exclaimed as a flush of tiny golden bodies fled their stepping feet into the evening sky. stormpup toddled toward a plush stack of mushrooms, and she scooped him back toward her, keeping an eye trained toward the little girl.

Shadowpup frolicked with @Stormpup through the clusters of yellow buttercups and purple clover after Silvertongue. A child so young had no perception of the past or future – she was too preoccupied with enjoying the present. She didn’t know where or why they were going. Right now, Shadowpup was simply happy to enjoy the company of her brother and Tia Plata.

The young girl was more sensitive and cautious than her sibling. Instead of trampling flowers, she smelled them. Instead of chewing a stick, she would admire its abstract shape of it. Shadowpup was like a little sponge! She absorbed the world around her.

“Mira, mira!” she parrotted Silvertongue (not really having any idea what the word meant) when she spied the little orbs of light. She gasped in awe and sat perfectly still. Their dance was mesmerizing!

"ellos se llaman con amor," silvertongue pointed out. "por eso hacen las luces." heart, elated; heart, falling; for love was what she had borne crowfeather, and still did. for him she glowed as did la luciérnaga, and yet there was no glow in return. richness of spirit, the love of companions, and none of it for her own soul. through the thinning ache, silvertongue observed her children, and found that it eased somewhat, for reasons unexplored; to know that what belonged to her were these shadowdark children who bore his face, his beauty, his clan's name.

“Amor?” Shadowpup chimed as her big eyes watched the dancing lights. One firefly nearly touched the child’s nose before flying away in a whimsical pattern. The girl briefly gave chase, giggling.

“Mira! Mira Tia Plata!” Shadowpup danced with the luciérnagas as Silvertongue watched. Look I am a firefly!

Her innocent gaze, soon to be marigold, turned upon Silvertongue.

amor. an expansive sigh, warmth in her eyes as she looked to shadowpup. tia plata. "son pequeños fuegos ardientes. como usted." mouth curved wryly, gaze brightening as she watched the glow of the little bugs illuminate shadowpup's pale marking.

Do you mind if this is my last post? Thank you for the short and sweet thread!

Tia Plata always knew just what to say! Shadowpup giggled bashfully as the fireflies hovered around her. It was an ethereal sight, for the glowing luciérnagas appeared undisturbed as the darkling cygnet danced with them. It was as if mother nature accepted this gentle, loving child.

Eventually, Shadowpup recognized that it was time to say farewell to her little friends. “Bye bye,” she cooed before frolicking back to her Tia Plata.
