her sister, distracting him with words, worked to barter for astara's release -- but astara, seeing his attention was momentarily distracted, lunged upwards in the hopes of sneaking a flying bite to his limb, and then, if her move proved in anyway successful, hoped to slip out from beneath his grasp like an oiled worm and hopefully dash to safety.
