The compliment she offered was met with a curious furrowing of his brows that seemed to last for only a heartbeat before vanishing from his features. Atlas was not one to be complimented on his hunting skills. While Hydra had done well to train them and to teach the boys how to track and catch their prey, the shade had felt that he paled in comparison to Osiris and their mother. He was capable, but the yearling did not fully feel as though he was skilled in the art.

“They always surprise me with how large they are,” he commented as he stared at the bird with hunger in his gaze. The goose was nothing to scoff at; it would provide them with something to eat and then some to store away for the pack. Having caught the bird without any issues felt like something of a triumph for the young wolf.

"They are easier to target. However, they are also very ferocious in vengeance." Desdemona faintly recalled the few moments she had with geese. They were large and delicious, but if one was to miss, they would come to attack. They definitely can cause some damage, if not tear an ear or two away.

"Perhaps another time we should hunt more," the guard offered. She enjoyed the boy as a hunting companion.

Yes, geese were rather impressive when it came to the aim of their beaks. Atlas had been clipped in the face more than once by the ornery birds. He had grown to dislike them a good deal; it was a shame that they made for such a good meal.

“I think that’s a fine idea,” Atlas agreed to her offer to hunt more often. It would do them both well to test and improve their skills, and there was no better way than by feeding their pack and each other. It would also help him to bond with the members of Moonspear. He had been somewhat reclusive while he had ventured through his first year. He knew it would be valuable and would show good faith to his mother.

close? :eye: we can have another

A small smile she would rarely give; but it was nice to find a hunting partner. Many of the Moonspear wolves were nice, but also brutal beings. She found it difficult to talk to them so, much less count as 'friends,' but it felt pleasing knowing to gain a hunting companion of sorts. Perhaps overtime she could become closer to the Ostrega family, but for now, Desdemona was satisfied as but a shadow guard to the mountain.

Atlas himself did not feel so close to the wolves of Moonspear. Aside from his family, he knew little about the other members in the pack. He had dedicated most of his days simply to watching the borders of the mountain, searching for the next thing that would attempt to strip them of their defenses. The thought of the cougar attack was still fresh to him, and it had created some deeply rooted anxieties that would not be flushed out so easily by a few peaceful months. Duty and work, he understood that well and could speak of it with Desdemona without trouble. To truly know someone else beyond the formal front, he couldn’t have told her a thing.
