All Welcome
@Toula (not sure what babies name is under, @Fjola, @Mae @Cygnet reference or answer if you like :)

Three weeks had passed. Her babies were active and bright eyed. She was learning to care for them and she was content in her motherhood.

When an orphan was thrust upon her. As sweet as could be she quickly gathered her. Afraid she'd waste away to nothing. A wisp of what she should be.

She had been told that a she wolf named @Eshe may come around to meet her as she would be probably in chsrge of the child when weaned. That was fine with Inkeri. She hummed softly, bathing each child with gentle ministrations.

Mae wasn't sure about Inkeri, but she was willing enough to feed her sister, so she silently accepted the woman. She lingered close at all times. When the girl wasn't being fed, Mae was busy cooing over her. Babies were fragile, and she understood this, so she kept her touches light and inoffensive. She didn't try to pick her up again.

Babies were also very boring. Mae yawned and stretched out where she had settled nearby to watch Inkeri bathe her sister and the other children. Sooooo... what's Karshi - She remembered what Arric had said. Karshim. What's it like living here?

skippable!
Cygnet had weathered the trip as well as could be expected for a child stripped from her mother’s breast. Every moment that passed during the scuffle over her possession and afterwards had been precious time, but by the time she’d been brought to a nursing mother she still lived.

She’d passed out during the final leg of the journey, but had been awakened by nuzzled and licks until she emitted a wail that had sounded something like a crew of bagpipers warming up. Once she latched on, she fed ravenously, occasionally drifting off with her mouth still open.

When she was awake, She wasn’t awake for long. She fed, complained, and smelled. Too weak to move much, she remained where she was until she was moved and cleaned, and had begun to recognize scents.

When a familiar one drew near enough, she lifted her head and turned it toward Mae, licking her lips to wet her nose so she could smell her better.

curious baby time >:) can be a cameo unless she's acknowledged!

Something was afoot with Kvarsheim. New smells, ucky ones; commotion, words she didn't understand; Dad had come home with the thick stench of blood upon his coat. And so, Astrid found herself wandering.
Perhaps she just had a bloated ego, but she totally deserved to know what was going on! So she toddles her way up to the mouth of Inkeri's den where the strange ucky smells seemed to be emanating from. There are strangers! Two! One is a tiny baby, and the other is a different child, possibly a few months her senior. They both stink. Hvað?
She crouches on pudgy legs just outside in the tallgrass, beady eyes peering in, and watches.

Her eyes opened one at a time, slowly—it was as though they wanted to remain stuck! And once they opened, she had forgotten what life was like when they were closed. Lilja was fascinated, wide eyed but still compromised by her bleary vision.

The very first thing she “saw” was her mother. Next, her sister—the rest were too far to be seen with any clarity and recognized as anything beyond obscure blobs. The blob of mother and sister were nearly merged to be one being, but… were they?

Lilja mewled, wobbling one little inchworm squirm forward.

Inkeri pulled Lilja forward and regarded Mae with gentle eyes and a smile to Astrid.

Kvarsheim is quiet. Quiet. Peaceful. What is Swiftcurrent like? Like?

She held out a paw for Astrid to join in if she wanted though she'd hold the babies close to herself so no one got trampled or hurt.

skippable, just cameo unless acknowledged :>

fjola didn't ever know quite what she was or where she was, but she was peaceful. her eyes had opened recently, bright puppy blue unknown to herself, drinking in the sights of the world- her whole world was her mother. she spent her time drinking milk and huddling in the warmth of fur and other bodies.

she was living quite healthily with little sign of sickness, but wasn't as energetic as some puppies were, though her mother was probably thankful for that, considering she was largely quiet and well-behaved (as well behaved as a child could be, at this age.)

she awoke briefly, hearing voices and noise, but soon drifted off into a nap again, tiny flank moving in a relaxed rhythm with her tiny heartbeat. the bathing of her mother was always appreciated; it helped her sink into happy dreams.
