All Welcome
Her sickness had gotten worse, before it had gotten better. New Snow needed much rest, and with no medic she risked ingesting no herbs. There were times she sought to get off bed rest long before she ought to have, and that had been to her detriment. Only Mountain Boulders grumbles kept her down… that and when exhaustion set in, the sort that felt bone deep; she was too tired to protest.

Today was one of the first days she felt right again, and it was likely due to both proper rest. When Red Woman had gone, she had taken on another role with the the -Caru but had also fretted over her own, the absence of Red Woman, and the well fare of the pack. And when Red Woman returned, it all caught up to her.

After a long night of snoring, New Snow woke early with Mountain Boulder. Her spirits were high, she no longer wheezed when she drew breath… all felt well! This time, New Snow would slowly return to things and not overdo it like the last. She begun by sniffing after the trail of a wolf that had recently passed through.

Concern had lingered throughout the past month as she saw very little of woman essentially standing in as the mother of the pack. Her daughters thrived, and were a testament to excellent parenting. Augur continued to patrol and ward strangers from the borders while his wife took time to recover from her illness. Lilia passed by, often- realizing that with time, she missed the woman's company.

She drifted near just at the right time, on the right day- to spot her friend out of the den, snuffling about. Uttering a happy croon, Lilia approached with ears tucked back, and tail low and waving- happy whines begged for an embrace from the woman she had missed, and was now terribly glad to see again.

New Snow was quick to then move nearer to Wolverine, tail wagging furiously to see her there. It was easy, to coexist with one of her grown daughters. New Snow was too glad to see her, and see her well!

She sniffed at her furs, smelling the prominent scent of Wolverine’s own mate. New Snow seemed to grin, looking upon the she-wolf. Already she pictured her new young—playing with her own! And Wolverines sisters, playing with them. One, at least; one had dispersed already! But it seemed that the cubs of New Snow and Mountain Boulder, though well loved, were resilient and strong. They were permitted their independence.

New Snow slipped down into a low play bow, looking to Wolverine with encouraging eyes.

I’m going to archive this as it’s very out of date but I do hope their paths cross again! <3

Lilia had trained to become fierce- to glance once at another wolf and assess their strengths, and to use her own against them. But when New Snow dipped into a playbow, her training faded into the background. Here, in play, she was safe to allow herself to be foolish. She was comfortable purposefully making mistakes, moving with a bounce to her step, and taking time to share a smile before bounding in again.

New Snow had always summoned the best from her; she would learn to bring forth those qualities within herself because the kind woman had shown her how to access them.
