@Njord! Backdated to around the 6th

It was still cold as shit, but the snow was surprisingly not as concentrated in comparison to the rest of the Teekons -- in fact, it felt rather nice here. The scent of sea salt wafted heavily into this crisp air; an ocean was nearby. Should Rush go on a brisk walk in the sand? Maybe collect whatever strange rocks or shells she could find by the foamy shores? As much as these ideas tempted the witch, she was far too lazy to move.....at all right now. Russia wanted to relax here, especially since this is the first resting spot she took up in forever (It was actually 20 minutes, but that was the minimum to be considered 'forever' to Russia).

So, with a dreary sigh, the silver fae flopped onto her stomach and drew back her hind legs to get as comfortable as possible. Not even the approaching scent nearby could ruin her relaxed state right now -- she'd allow them to come as close as they dared, and pretended to be distracted until they decided to announce their presence and entertain the she-wolf during her break.

Harsh winds buffeted Njord as he left the heights of Dragoncrest Cliffs. @Rosalyn and @Erzulie had sounded the alarm that their daughter, Regin, could not be found… and so Njord began to roam the territory as the snow began to fall. Without a trace of the young girl (though it was hard to track anything in the fresh snow), Njord began to move outwards into the adjacent territories.

His heart was still heavy from the loss of Raleska and Kaertok, two of Sapphique's most senior members. Now, with the bad storm and the disappearance of Regin, it was difficult to feel happy during the long winter nights.

Like the keel of a great ship, he broke the deep snow with his chest. Eventually the elevation waned and Njord descended into Barrow fields. The gale was not as bad here. The islander was grateful for a respite from the biting winds and white-out conditions.
In the distance he spotted a lone wolf – a woman – reclined on her belly. Maybe she had seen the child? Njord approached with a neutral posture and called “Ahoy!”

The stranger that eventually came to vision was a unique-looking sight -- and 'Ahoy', that was new. A language barrier, perhaps? If that's the case, then this'll be a whole lot funner.

"Sup?" Rush greeted firstly with a tip of her chin his way, taking her time while she sat up to confront the sea-side boy with a relaxed-looking gaze. Her next words: "Nice beach body." were said with the same amount of casualty as her first greeting -- more or less a test to see if this 'Ahoy' word did, in fact, signify a language barrier. If he did understand her, however, it would've been pretty funny to see his reaction.

Moving on, the witch noticed that his oddly-patterned pelt carried the scent of more than one wolf -- high chances were he was from a pack. Was there one nearby? Russia was far too distracted by the smell of seawater to notice. Did this mean they came over here to chase her off, too?

Well that would kinda suck. She was just getting all comfortable,  afterall...

Sorry for my delay!

The stranger appraised him with a lackadaisical gaze as she sat up to receive company. Her eyes were like shiny copper pennies set into granite – a sliver of quartz-colored fur on her brow. She was a slim woman; not a hearty northerner one would expect to find in this region of the world. Maybe she was a transplant too? Njord was still adapting to the mainland since leaving island life behind.

Sup, she beckoned with a tip of her chin. At this moment, she was the opposite of him: relaxed, confident, assured… attributes they would have shared on a better day. But with the bear’s attack, the snow storm, and the loss of Regin, Njord could only be guarded and somber.

However, her easy expression warmed his heart… and her compliment about his beach bod didn’t hurt. Njord was able to crack a weary smile and savor the fleeting kiss of attraction he had missed during these dark days.

“It’s hardly beach season, innit?” he commented with a chuckle. “The sand’s covered with snow!” He stopped a few lengths away. “I’m lookin’ for a young lass. She’s all white with a dark head an’ copper down ‘er back. This be ‘er first winter… name’s Regin. ‘Av ya seen anyone like that?” he asked, hopeful this vagrant might have spotted the young Sapphiquian during her travels.

Two two wolves chatted for a while, but when it became evident that this vagrant had not seen Regin, Njord excused himself and pressed on. He continued south until the weather turned bad and was forced to turn back home, empty handed.
