Like a slap in the face a voice curled into the coocoon of grief he had made. But he had to do something, anything. He pressed his nose hard into Samani still so warm and yet void of life.

He pressed furs around the babies winding them tight and safe, but they could breathe. And with staggering steps and wild eyes he went to the door. Blood streaking his russet fur, tears pouring from his eyes.
