She sounds like a child. Clearly what they've discussed has hit a nerve, or at the very least she did not get all that she wanted; but Kigipigak did not care. He was pleased with himself for dealing with this so quickly and for having any resolution at all; but the nagging sensation of something dark and brooding remained in his heart. He did not know how to identify grief, as it was not something those of Tartok openly admitted to let alone felt—but it was there, an undercurrent to every word he spoke.

The woman accepted. There was nothing else to say. When prompted for more, Kigipigak shook his head. He did not want to linger any longer, and was already moving as if to disperse. It was perhaps unwise to turn his back to her, but so far Reyna did not pose a threat to him.

Over his shoulder he called, Good luck, Reyna.

And with that his pale figure vanished among the trees, heading for that clearing so that he could make his way back home.
