All Welcome
Glaukos climbed the mountain. He did not know what to expect of the village, or of Sialuk, but he was truthfully smitten after their rendezvous and everything felt new to him; he was not versed in any way with kindness, physical touch (outside of the potential abuses of being a soldier), or the expectations that the woman might hold for him.

All he knew was how to guard and how to fight, both things he would employ at the first sign of danger. The difficulty came when Glaukos navigated his way up the mountain: he expected to be accosted for his arrival there (even though he smelled of Sialuk quite strongly after their lovemaking) or at the very least, watched.

Even now, he was on-edge. A figment of guilt had manifested after their coupling that Glaukos could not shake - the grave sound of Germanicus in the back of the soldier's mind, reciting his vows as though they were of great importance. Glaukos knew better. It had been months since Mereo existed, and yet he could not shake this feeling.

Alaric was frisking and frolicking through thr pack lands. Like an overgrown pup honestly. It was silly and dangerous but so fun. Until a scent he recognized, but couldn't place colored his thoughts and he froze. He headed towards it and laughter followed on his heels when he saw who it was.

Heya! If it isn't smalls!

He couldn't remeber the males name. Honestly, he didn't even know if the guy had given his name all those moons ago. A shit eating grin took up his face and eyes of deep green crackled merrily.

A dark shape appeared further ahead, and as they froze so did Glaukos. When he heard their voice he recognized them in a vague sense — he'd met them before, but couldn't place where immediately; but then he saw the smile on the man's face and something clicked. His term in Akashingo had been ages ago now, and the events that had required him to be social (ugh) were behind him. This was one of those faces he'd met there, briefly.

Although their encounter was not fresh in Glaukos' memory, he felt a distinct unease crawling up his spine. It wasn't a dread feeling, or a warning that this man might be dangerous — but the kind of oil-meets-water dispersion.

Glaukos, he corrected with a grunt, and began to march the path again. He did not dissuade the man from keeping up, but the ex-soldier wasn't too inviting, which was on-brand.

Another one of Sialuk's paramours. So it seemed if rumors were to be believed the night that he had been privy too and had fast realized he was one too many in a date circle and had thus tried to push other people together it seemed it had worked. He was the only one that hadn't come away with some sort of paramour and that was quite alright. His mission had been a success then.

Well Glaukos. I still think small's fits you better, but it's clear you don't much like my nicknames. So tell me Glaukos. What brings you to the spear? You joining our merry band of misfits?

There was a small rumble that emanated from Glaukos' chest when he heard that nickname, Smalls, again. It felt derogatory. It was wrong, because he was not small, and the joke of it did not register for him. He was annoyed by the banter and cared little for the company of this man — who he swiftly remembered in greater detail the longer they were together and conversing.

The question posed by the dark wolf was mundane for how obvious it was. Glaukos huffed and looked to his surroundings as if there were something he sought in the shadows of the trees, and his gaze narrowed with piqued annoyance.

Sialuk. He answered, dully. Even so, his voice was softer than before; but he was quick to put up the emotional and social barricades, and coldly — a touch smug, to be truthful — added, I am to be a father.

Alaric heard the growl and backed up. His eyes  narrowed and he briefly thought about growling back. Instead he put on a small impish smile and gave the male space.

you and a few other's share that honor. Congrats. Alaric quipped back. This male was not one that Alaric was finding enjoyed his presence. And honestly he was fast realizing the more he tried to fit into Moonspear, the more he didn't. And he briefly thought of leaving again. Where could he go though? What could he do? He could stay a loner he supposed.

He saw no rudeness in his answer. Sialuk had many loves as did Elentari. They shared on this mountain. But then he wondered if this male knew that and if just hadn't made a faux pas.

The quick response gave Glaukos a momentary lapse of thought. He didn't know how to take the information; it didn't offend him exactly, and he wasn't sure if it was meant to. He took that moment to size-up the other man and decide for himself how he felt, which wasn't at all in his wheel house. Soldiers didn't need to know these things. But, was he still a soldier without his general? Transitioning to being a civilian would no doubt be a difficult, perhaps impossible, shift.

Remembering how forthright and odd this man could be, Glaukos decided not to take offense. Besides that, Alaric gave his accolades over the situation. Maybe Glaukos wasn't going to be the only father - but he didn't consider that Sialuk might be the only mother on the mountain. He had not thought about it.

In the end, he grumbled a sullen little, Thank you. Then stood there, as if awaiting dismissal. Another habit worth breaking.

He saw the stance. Clearly this man didn't handle social sotuations well. Which was probably part of the reason Alaric imagined he was uncomfortable around him. So he dipped his head.

See ya around, Glaukos. Hope you settle well.

Then he shifted and bounded away. Reminding himself not to impose on Glaukos to often.
