wraen's explanation was met with a cold squint. arcturus misinterpreted wraen's genial cheekiness as the kind of whimsical joking an adult did to a child, and he did not much care for that. he felt he may be the butt of a joke here that he wasn't sharp enough to pick up on, and it made his face darken with disapproval.

"arcturus." the moonspearian supplied, his tone clipped. "i'm not a child, you know. so you can quit with the fairy tales."  his voice was sullen, composed by a narrowing of his gaze in dislike.
