All Welcome
@Burdock @Buckthorn @Juniper @Violet anybody want a daddy pup thread. Iknow you can't do much yet. So just one reply is fine if you'd like to join in.

Arric shifted into the den and shoved @Arlette out of it. Told her to go take a fresh bath, get something to eat, or just lay in the meadow somewhere. Just to give her a break. She was as amazing a mother as she was a wolfess and healer, but he wanted to make sure she also took care of herself. Got breaks when she needed them and had the time. He knew she wouldn't stay away long, but he hoped enough to get some fresh air.

He settled near the puppies, it was the heat of the summer and he pushed out a lot of heat. So he let the little ones press against if they wanted to sit in the cooler areas too if they liked. They could crawl around. And he had been watching to see if any little eyes were beginning to show open. He knew that would happen sooner rather than later and he couldn't wait to see one of the many firsts as a first time dad.

At almost two weeks of age Burdock did not have many cares or worries in the world. Arlette was a very attentive mom, so the boy never went without a meal, a cuddle, a bath and some tummy massage to keep his bowel movements in check. Now and then he experienced bouts of colics and it was a good thing neither of his parents were in a habit of smoking inside the den. Because the amount of methane this little chap produced would be enough to blow the roof off the den if there was a spark to ignite everything.

He was mastering the art of walking and recently he felt a new sense developing. And as luck would have it the moment Arlette was out of the den, Burdock opened his eyes for the first time. He lifted his head and with a slightly dumbfounded expression and mouth agape he lazily blinked and admired the large wall of fur in front of him.

Violet was completely splooted on the den's cool floor. She didn't really know she was in a den for her everything was dark as she had her eyes closed. The comfort of her siblings was not needed today with the heat that was coming into the den. She was a pretty happy camper. Most times when she made something known her wishes were met. The girl was happily snoozing. This had been a good spot after all, and then often sleep would come. It were hazy little naps most of the time.

buckthorn was a rotund little potato, happy to suckle or nap the through the extension of darkness he knew so well. quiet for the majority of his time earthside, it was only when the hazy glimmer of daylight snuck through squinted eyelids that he let out a squeal. his vision wasn't much developed yet and anything he could see was little more than a foggy cloud of color.

he gave a few confused blinks in the direction of what was likely his father, head still wobbly and heavy to hold up. after a few moments he opted for the comfortability he knew and decided to wiggle himself alongside violet, where he would nap until his mother eventually returned.

Juniper, similar to Violet, napped alone on her back with her belly exposed to the sky to keep cool in the warmth. She snored softly and moved her paws now and then as she slept, dreaming of nothing in particular.

She was easily awakened due to being a light sleeper, but at the moment, she continued to rest undisturbed.

Arric leaned his large head down as one of their sons and then both began to be able to see. The girls kept themselves silent and sleeping. And he hoped that they would open their eyes for their mother when she returned, because now he felt mean. Arlette had missed this, because he had wanted to give her a break.

He licked a stripe along everyone of the kid's heads and gave a soft little snort of amusement. Can see now can't you little ones. All hell is gonna break loose now.

Burdock scrunched his nose and let out a shrill whine in protest against the sudden assault of wet tongue that ruffled his hairdo and left his face, ears and most of his head wet. Ugh... He attempted to back away, just in case this giant mountain of fur decided to attack him again, but his feet failed him, he lost his balance and then fell on is back. There he remained, paws squirming, incapacitated like a turtle. Upside down.

"EEA-a-ah-he--eap," he continued to whine.

Violet stirred when a warm tongue licked over her. She didn't know it was a tongue but she felt something warm touch her. Then followed by a cold since the warmth was gone. She lifted her head questioningly. Oooooo! She cried out, yes more! A low hum for more. Her bother snuggled with her. She recognized him by scent. The red colored girl, moved her head against him to rest. She stretched out her legs but instead of closing her eyes she opened them.

The girl watched the blurred shaped, almost a little confused. She turned her head, being so close to her bother she could see her fur pretty well. It was different from hers when she looked at their different legs. Huh? Curious. Her eyes were a murky blue a sign they were going to change color in the future. She nudged her bother's leg with her nose as if that might make it the same color. It didn't. He smelled the same but also different from her. Maybe that was the same for how he looked? Same but different? The girl startled when there was suddenly something large and super dark in the corner of her eye. EEEEEKKKK She squeaked at the moving shape.
