the birth of his children should bring joy to his life, of this arktos is aware. but there is only the crushing sense that he knows nothing about being a father — especially to little, helpless newborns.

the headaches — like his forgotten past clawing viciously at his mind to get out — have become more frequent and more painful these days. it does not help this feeling.

he seeks solstice away from the borders, away from the birthing den; hunkering down in an outcropping of rock that offers shade from the mid-morning sun; hoping that either the headaches stopped or he remembered.

anything to make them stop.

Suddenly, she was behind him, tattered ears perked sharply forwards, her stare eerie as it always was. How long had she been there? Who could even know. She'd seen the bone-weary look on the alpha's face, seen the far-away glaze that seemed to haunt his gaze. It intrigued her, and so naturally, she followed suit in search for an answer.

Making herself known, she'd clear her throat, and step a little ways around the nook that sheltered him.

You seem like you've seen better days. She remarks with a sideways glance, whale-eyed.
