He led the procession, but she could see that each of her sons brought a rabbit- and bloody as they were, these weren’t brought from caches- she could tell in an instant that these were fresh-caught simply by the buoyant pride in their step. 

”You did!” she exclaimed, laughing as Theo held the rabbit up for her to see. ”An’ look! Such a good catch- my boys, you make me so proud! I can ‘ear my heart beat out loud!” She said, reaching forward to give Theo a fond nuzzle. To see her boys thriving revived her from her grief. She reached for Étienne too, who had made a catch of his own. ”What a team you make!” She praised.
