when silvertongue awoke, she was alone beneath a bowl of brilliant stars. her captors had gone, though not before her feline possessor sent her into the waking green dream, and she held to it now. in the direction she knew to be akashingo was where he had gone, but silvertongue had little choice but to trail his hours'-old trail beside the serpent. as soon as she could be parted from it, she veered into the rolling emerald of the meadow, looking over her shoulder, stumbling; if she could only reach the palace, reach what had once spelled safety — she collapsed insensate beneath the sun, her small frame crumpled as a stone in the far distance, heat pouring down over a frame already direly weakened.

After his parting from the herbalist, Briar's wanderings were uneventful. Although it gave him the thought to keep an eye out for any medicinal plants he knew. The frost would come soon enough, and any traveler in winter needed every resource they could find. This day he spent scouring the meadows for anything of use. As he moved, Briar was keenly aware of the mesa looming. His last parting with the wolves of Akashingo was pleasant, albeit he was out of his depth.
However no prize would be found in Briar's plant hunt. He blamed his own experience. Lifting his head from the earth, a silver flash was nestled within the swaying grass. Two-tone eyes narrowed. Briar looked over his shoulder before approaching. Heart quickening to find the downed woman.
No such luck in sighting another. The hair along his spine bristled, unnerved. With a hum to himself, Briar extended a paw to prod her shoulder.

Ah hell, you okay miss?Briar once again looked around. Her scent was intermingled with another. Had she a companion? Where were they?

Hey! Are you able to wake up?

her lashes fluttered; her eyes did not open. the sun slowly swirled her mind into fever. "juárez," she murmured, rolling to one side; she lay fetal and curled there. "crowfeather." she walked! she walked in some dreaming; she was lost, lost, and beneath the stranger's eyes she whispered once more; "akashingo." silvertongue wet her lips and found no more energy for speaking; she faded back against the meadowgrass and kept her gaze shuttered against the sun, against the shadow which fell across her. the man's voice; man; men. she was prepared to give, but no more of herself than the pantherman had taken. maybe this one would see fit for her transationality.

Several names tumble off of her lips, only one being familiar to him. Had they been a traveling band to Akashingo? Or perhaps leaving from the red palace? As she coiled upon herself Briar realized the absence of her leg. Was she having difficulties with traveling that caused her collapse? His frown tightened as his next thought soured his tongue.
He did not know these answers either. Nor did he want to consider them further.
Briar's paw hovered tentatively.
This Juárez and Crowfeather, did they leave you behind? His question, while pointed, parted from his lips softly. Two-tone eyes lingered in the silver woman's form before he heaved a sigh. The truth on whether she had been abandoned or not was irrelevant. She as suffering beneath sun. A touch of empathy fostered within the lone traveler; he too was familiar with its cruelty.
I know of Akashingo.Would they be turned away if they stood at the palace doors?
I can take you there.Would Pharaoh Toula grant the woman respite?
He did not know these answers either. Nor did he want to consider them further.
Briar's paw hovered tentatively.
I will have carry if you can't walk.He wait several breaths before moving to lift the woman onto his shoulders. Awkward as it was, he tried best to balance her weight.

scant hours since her last dosing and already silvertongue found the need curling green and vibrant inside her. akashingo; it poured twice more from her mouth in dehydrated whispers. her arm slung over his shoulders; she was leaf-light, bones wrapped in dusty fur. silently she hung over his back, her cheek lightly bounced by any movements she might make. "juárez" she breathed again. do not make me live without it. barely conscious, there was only the good hope that she would wake within a place familiar. barring this, she might simply die, and the thought elicited a small, bitter laugh from her insensate mouth.

A silver paw dangled past his shoulder and he gripped it briefly, pulling her upwards as one would adjust a pack. An ear twitched as the silver woman repeated that name again. Juárez. He pondered briefly if she had him mistaken. He'd be sorry to disappoint if that was the case. He also considered she may have had too much sun at that point. She'd have to bear it a bit longer.
He slowly drew a breath, eyes lifting towards the mesa in the distance. A destination in sight, now just the matter of getting there. Exhaling, he began a steady pace towards the mesa.
