3C°, currently it is misty/overcast and set during the late afternoon. Located in Haunted Woods, shadow grotto | ooc notes: she officially a soldier :eyes: time to have some fighty times | tagging: @Polaris

If she was true about her age, the young lady that Clay had brought back to the woods would have already, officially, be an adult. From whelp to a soldier so quickly, she was the first to come of age among her peers despite being the last of them to join. She was also the only one that he had not tested out thoroughly when it came to battling capabilities. She came off as weak, like Clay, it didn't help her case that the weakest whelp is the one who brought her to the woods - and so, today, he went and sought her out.

Carefully he picked out her trail and focused purely on that until the young lady came into view. You're nine months now, are you not? He wasted no time in beginning the reason why he hunted her down in the woods, speaking all the while swallowing the distance between them. You're no longer a whelp, but a soldier. Ruby eyes looked over the young girl, dissecting her smaller body and possible capabilities.

In all honesty, he didn't think she could make it as a Nightwalker. The girl didn't seem to have what it took to be one of them... but he would test her regardless. Use her so long as she remained as one of them.

trepidation made quick work creeping up her spine the moment she caught wind of his awful stench and caught sight of those piercing rubies slicing through the twisting fog. even the eerie substance seemed to trip over itself in an effort to part before the beast could pass through and make his way right over to her. the dove swallows down the building misgivings, feathery tail swishing behind her as she watched on reproachfully. silence had never been a thing associated with the curious polaris and yet since becoming one of the nightwalkers she had come to be a much closer companion of the quiet rather than attract the attention of the monsters that lurked restlessly in the shadows. she wished that sentence was something metaphorical but no, it was completely literal. she heard them hissing and growling in the shadows whenever they came across each other like mindless, feral beings. is this how other animals seen wolves as a whole? it wasn't a picture she liked to imagine ever being a part of.

nine months...ears lean back slightly as she nods slowly. "yesspoken with soft levels of thought; nine months. never had she imagined that she'd pass that threshold here and she catches herself wondering; why? then she remembers; @Clay. her jaw grits uneasily, clay who'd brought her back to this awful place and abandoned her without so much as a single uttering. hard not to feel a little put out, it would've been different even if he'd brought her someplace he knew she'd feel at home but although they weren't life long friends or anything, she knew the boy had to know she'd feel out of sorts here. yet still, nothing. ears lean forth, fighting through the fog of bitterness to focus once more on what was being said. soldier....

bicoloured orbs are narrowed slightly yet she holds her tongue. had she been before anyone else she would not have been able to resist giving life to a challenging set of thoughts. why must all who lived here have to be a soldier, it was a stupid rank system especially in the sense of limiting themselves so. what happened if one of them got hurt? oh of course, they were big bad toughies here, she supposed if you fought too hard you'd just have to take it on the chin and accept death like a big strong wolf. distaste rises in the back of her throat, she truly didn't tend to look down on any but after weeks of trying to give them a chance and seeing nothing to change her mind; polaris could not help but see them as mindless..idiots. cunning in the art of violence sure, but life was so much more than that and she pitied them to never get to appreciate the true extent of what lay out there.

still, such thoughts wouldn't help her now and she simply gazed back at the large man apprehensively. "yea, i guess i ameyes do not shift from him once as much as they wish they could. no, distrust sits heavy in her heart and she fears should she lose awareness for even the slightest of seconds she would be sure to regret it.
