Coo-hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo.

Anselm's eyes opened with a start. It was a day like any other for him; the den was warm and an unusually generous slant of sunlight pooled at the entrance and cast all in a golden glow. He was tangled between @Emmerich's legs with his body ending somewhere along @Isa's.

Coo-hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo.

His ears did their own bidding, pricking instinctively despite their ineffectiveness.

A mourning dove trilled somewhere in the canopy's hidden kingdom above the den. Anselm knew nothing of the order of birds, for for a while he stared glassy-eyed at the ceiling, transfixed by the low warble of a dove far away.

The green tint of her fur had faded two weeks prior but it did not stop the doting nature of her parents from occurring, a presence she had become used to in her tiny short life as her limbs stretched out, embracing the warmth, comfort, and peace present in their den, away from anything the outside world might plague them with. Coo-hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo. The sound caused her nose to wrinkle, mews indiscernible but fussy escaping as her paws shifted.

One shifted right into her brother. She did not care, nor did she recognize how she had hit her brother either nor did she have any semblance of understanding or care. Such concepts were beyond her, and would be for some time. Glassy eyes refused to open as she continued to shift and thrash, restless as the sound continued onward. Coo-hoo, hoo-hoo, hoo.
