All Welcome
The other Frostfur's scents wavered in intensity as he traversed the lands, interweaving with so many others that Fergus had to stop every now and again to make sure he was still following the right trail. While he sensed nearby packs, he gave them a wide berth for now. Interested as he was of the inhabitants of this land, his priority right now was finding his siblings; he was curious of their of travels, what had they done with their lives since departing their familial pack?

A lazy, meandering river had been his only companion for a few days now. It had at least been a consistent source of water and sustenance, but Fergus had grown tired of the taste of fish, and a flock of ducks flying overhead had just so happened to catch his attention. His mouth watered at the prospect of a fat, tasty bird.

Head tilted skywards and green eyes keenly following their formation, he set off at a steady pace, becoming their shadow far below as they gracefully glided across the expansive meadow.

Hit with a sudden need to wander. Arric woke early in the morning and left the creek behind. With promises he'd be back before nightfall so the babies had uncle Arric around, and promising to bring them a rabbit to gnaw on he set out.

He followed the creek from the pack borders and further on. Over hills and down into small meadows, the cattails and the dragonflies dotted the landscape racing over each other. Where trees dotted the corners and the sides of the small hilly place.

A movement caught his gaze and blue eyes studied keenly as the stone and granite man moved through the meadow. Arric thought about letting him wander without even letting him know he was around, but he realized he was a bit lonely and chuffed out.

Where the flock of waterfowl were headed, he had no idea, but he knew they had to land eventually and when they did, he'd be ready and waiting. Although Fergus was not much of a hunter, he was smart enough to jump on an opportunity when one presented itself. And, as luck would have it, a fellow wolf graced the scene with his presence and a low chuff in greeting. A hunting partner, perhaps?

The Frostfur slowed and turned to look over his shoulder at the great shadow of a man who had suddenly materialised. He stalled mid-clip in surprise at the sheer size of the lad but quickly recovered, determined not to lose track of the birds overhead.

"Mornin'!" he called out with a toothy grin, turning a little more to face the stranger so he almost jogging sideways. "Would love to stay and chat but currently, uh..." He gestured with a jerk of his head towards the sky, "...on a bit of a hunt at the moment!"

It was as much of a statement as it was an open invitation. He let his gaze linger for a beat on the tall, dark and handsome before flashing another grin. Care to join me?

Looked like stone grey was following the water birds and Arric hated to tell him, but if it was them he was after. They were probably headed to the lake, and he hoped this dude could swim because....

There was a moment where he was being sized up and he knew exactly what the other was thinking. Because it was always the same. He was a big motherf***er and he was quiet. This usually went two ways they grew scared or they didn't. As luck would have it this one didnt' seem to mind his size.

Blue eyes lifted to the birds and then he nodded. Morning. Well then let's see if we can catch em.

He doubted they would. They'd hit the lake, but maybe they could. Arric took off, long strides pushing him to the side of the other male fairly quickly and mid stride he spoke.

Arric Du'Andris by the way.

Much to his surprise and delight, the other pleasantly responded to his invitation with a nod and agreement to join in on the chase. The large beast pushed forwards, catching up to him in no time at all, and Fergus quickened his stride to fall in step with the man. He reminded the Frostfur a little of his older brother, Kinloch – a tall, proud knight if ever there was one.

If one was quick, they would have caught the fleeting sidelong look Fergus gave the man. That familiar sense of mediocrity began to gnaw at the edge of his mind, yet he shoved aside the feeling and the furtive glance was just as quickly replaced with a beaming smile.

"Fergus Frostfur," he responded in turn with a polite tip of his head before swinging it to look skywards at the flock once more. "Don't 'spose you know where they're headed?"

Arric automatically adjusted his gait and his stride as he always did. He had learned early on to do this. He even had to adjust it to Akavir sometimes who wasn't really that much smaller was he. Gods it'd been so long since he saw his buddy. He wasn't certain

Well met Fergus.

Arric chuckled softly with the next question. To the lake. So if we wanna catch em for thos little bast..i mean birds get to the water we may want to kick it up a notch.
