Ah! There she was.  The pirate made an easy pace towards the other woman, dropping what she carried as they met and just as Erzulie apologized.

What was she sorry for? Did something happen? She asked, glancing her over and smiling despite the slight concern she felt.  Luckily Erzulie looked fine - better than ever, actually, it was gratifying to see.  Her wife had been showing a glimpse of what was to come her way soon if she was so 'blessed', and she was looking towards it with the trepidation one might give a wounded shark beached on the shore.  Worth it no doubt, but it might take a piece of her before it was over.

You're feeling better though, she added, curious despite the fact that it was a statement.  She really should have paid more attention when the woman back then had actually been taken with child, but their emotional and physical state had always made her do the opposite and avoid them like the plague.  As a result she had zero experience with the beauty of oncoming motherhood, or what to expect as the time went on.
