Almost idly, after Erzulie returned her touch, Rosalyn began to groom her coat, smoothing and straightening the harlot's lovely caramel strands.  It calmed her, doing this, and it satisfied her own need as well.  

As she did, she thought on her answer.  Not yet. She murmured, and again she felt that strange mix of disappointment and relief.  I wonder if it did not take.  Maybe she'd waited too long, and her body wasn't suited any longer.  She'd lived a long life and hadn't treated it easily.  Is yours still bad?
