Erzulie had more patience for Hydra's inquiries, it seemed.  Rosalyn would have allowed the woman only a denial, but she supposed it was true; it couldn't hurt to promise to keep her eye open.

At Caiaphas' name, she tensed.  It seemed the woman still followed them, even after her death.  She wasn't interested in speaking on her any more than necessary, nor betraying their ties, so she held her silence.  Inwardly, however, she gritted her teeth.

What had the woman set in motion before departing?  What new danger was this band, and what did they mean for Rusalka?  She was a fool, maybe, for thinking the witch had spend her remaining days alone.
