She might have lost his voice, but she hadn't quite managed to forget his face. As Rosalyn approached, her impatient stride faltered, then halted with shock as she realized who she was seeing.

Despite always believing they were out there, safe and living their lives, she wondered if she would ever grow used to the casual way they'd occasionally prove it. The overwhelming relief... not dead, then... and the immediate hesitancy.
