Fennec had hoped to have the pack settled before this happened, but her growing restlessness had turned that morning into something unmistakeable. And, when she woke up alone (as was always the case), she was on her feet and looking for @Bronco before she even realized what she was doing.

She'd been careful. She'd recognized his boundaries, drawn the lines, honored them to the best of her ability... and she was miserable. She hadn't been willing to admit it, not even to herself, but with the onset of the season it was too starkly clear to ignore. Fennec needed more than this and she needed to ask for it.

The change in her wasn't the only thing driving her, but it had stripped away her remaining willpower and shifted the tide. She wanted children and she wanted him. Every time they slept, nearby but never together, every time they sat with space between, every time he failed to reach out, every time she wanted to but couldn't. Suddenly she couldn't take it anymore.

She followed his trail and wound her way carefully through the trees, resolute despite the speed at which her heart was thudding in her chest.
