Damn, she really wanted to go back to that island. There had been signs of wolves the last time, and Rosalyn was now curious what was going on out there. They weren't exactly neighbors, but they were close enough to have her intrigued, and it was a niggling sensation that wouldn't go away.
Seems she'd have to scratch the itch, but she wasn't quite stupid enough to go alone. Unless, of course, she couldn't find anyone willing to accompany. So she set off for the forests of their claim, intending to roam the woods until she ran across someone (who wasn't the captain or his sister) to take a little swim with and investigate once more.

With the slow thinning of the snow, more places had appeared out of the white stuff to become clever spots for her to cache items for later. Most of her time was thus spent in the forest, searching for more and better places to cache her goodies 'til the thaw was complete and she could find a final place to move all her things to for safe keeping. Though yes, the pack did include a rather generous section of beach, but you couldn't hide things in the sand if you wanted them to stay clean, and being far more familiar with forests... Well. Her first choice was always familiar ground.
Today she was just carrying a particularly flat rock she'd picked off the shoreline a few hours ago, not quite sure where she wanted to place it. And this time, when she came across another wolf, it wasn't at her stockpile, so she was considerably less grumpy about it. Godot paused mid-stride as the darkish woman appeared in front of her. This was the one that caused that commotion down on the beach, right? Seemed right. Her name escaped her. Rose? Raw? Godot knew that Smokestep had gone over all those in the pack, but Godot's memory wasn't exactly the best, especially when the information wasn't immediately relevant. She whuffed -- or attempted to around the rock.

It took a bit of doing, but eventually, Rosalyn did run across someone. To her surprise, it was someone she hadn't encountered yet. "Hey." She slowed, looking rather curiously at the rock the other wolf was carrying. Why? "You busy?" She asked, unable to help the small smile that quirked up her mouth. Whatever she was doing with it, Rosalyn couldn't imagine it was important, but whatev.

Was she busy? She paused mid-stride about two steps before she would have otherwise. An ear orbited.
Eeeugh. Un 'ec,She turned and trotted over to one of the trees nearby, looked it over, then dug a quick hole, burying the rock in a not-clean mix of dirt and snow.
Nah, I'm good. Sup?Godot was quite inquisitive about it, head tilted, ears pricked forward attentively. What was she looking for someone to do? Nobody knew of her skills yet, and she was still cautious and unsure about sharing about them. Yet.

Rosalyn waited patiently as she deposited her prize (??) and came back, only giving her a questioning look before deciding she really didn't need to ask.
She intended to cut pretty quickly to the chase, though introduced herself before really diving in. "Name's Rosalyn, don't think we've met yet," she started, then gave a space for her to do the same. At least get the formalities outta the way before she went and saw if the girl would back her.

As if Godot would have given a straight answer anyway. It'd be some tangled mess of a response that likely would haven't made sense.
Well, she was close, wasn't she? Raw, Roslayn. Totally similar.

Nah. I've been mostly up here and stuff. Think you've mostly been at the beach in comparison. That whole kerfuffle at the beach or whatever while back was you, wasn't it? And uh. What's her name. That one.Godot was not good with names at all.
I'm Godot. Or Adelaide. Usually Godot. Why did she even bother giving her first name? Either way, the following cant of her head certainly suggested that she was curious what Rosalyn had wandered up to this chunk of the territory. Did she want to talk to Godot for some reason? What was up?

The kerfuffle... ah. Yeah. Her mixup with Sandpiper must have been what this woman was referring to, though Roz didn't remember her as being among the spectators. "Aye, that was me. Tend to bring just the right amount of trouble with me, seems." She gave a small smirk, then got to the point. "How are you at swimming, Godot? There's an island nearby that's been bothering me, thought I'd find a mate to investigate with."

Godot had peeked from farther up shore, then later gone to investigate the aftermath after everyone had left. The fine details? Way beyond her vision since she wasn't renting the eyes of a hawk. She wasn't one much for crowds.
Um. Haven't done as much in the sea. Should be fine if it's not bad.But if it was gonna drown most wolves, she'd be among them. She was not a sea-born wolf and was still more comfortable here under the trees. Even then, Godot seemed to be up for adventure!
That one kinda up the coast? It could be seen when the weather was clear without too much of a question. Though there very well could be another somewhere and she'd just not spotted it.

"Aye, that one," she confirmed, pleaded the other already knew of it. "Shouldn't be too bad if we go with low tide, once it's already gone out." To go while the tide was leaving would risk being pulled out themselves. With the water lower, however, perhaps less swimming would be needed.
"What'd ye say? Game to check it out with me sometime?". She hoped so, as she did not feel it a good decision to go alone, even for an experienced swimmer like herself.

Godot nodded.
When Godot had made her way down the coast, there had been no pack there (not that she'd gone and looked, as she didn't want to brave the sea) so it was just some mysterious island that she'd noted with curiosity before continuing on and traipsing into the slowly-forming Ironsea. She hadn't even been out of the territory to go have a chance to find out if anything had changed. For all she knew, the world outside the scent borders was frozen in time -- or a complete barren wasteland.
Yeah, just lemme know when. -- Think there's good stuff out there or somethin'?she asked, with a rather catlike flick of her tail. Treats and treasures? Could they take over the island too? Hmm. How easy would it be to swim back carrying stuff? Hopefully not bad if it is low tide.

"I'll give ya a shout. Eh, maybe." She wasn't honestly sure what they'd find, but that was what had her so intrigued. "Thought I caught wind of wolves, which is an odd place to find anyone livin. Figure it might be worth seein what's what." And if they did find cool things, that was fine too! Maybe some random awesome prey or something for this girl to carry about. She seemed to always have something?
"You like stuff, don't you?" She asked, ear flicking with bemusement at her. No judgement here... Rosalyn wasn't much for things since she tended to not stick around enough to enjoy them. But she got the itch to claim something as your own, most definitely.

Godot bobbed her head. She'd keep an ear out for it.
Another nod, short and quick,
They've got food over there then? How's a bunch of deer and rabbits or something supposed to get out there?Like what were they gonna eat? Just fish? The island wasn't big enough for all the other stuff, right? Or was it... Hm. Maybe the distance was deceptive. Godot barely had things figured out here, where there was land and less weirdness.
Another nod, short and quick,
Stuff's nice. Got plans for some of it maybe. When other stuff grows. She probably had half the things she needed and wanted. Godot was probably something like a squirrel or raven -- collecting interesting things and stashing them away for whatever use (or to later forget).

"Mhmm". Fascinating. Rosalyn didn't understand a lick of it, but the other woman had agreed, so hurrah! Goal met. There was an obvious follow up here, but Roz wasn't sure she wanted to know.
"It doesn't make much sense to me either, so I'll let you know when we'll check it out." She might nab one more for the trip also.
Unbeknownst to her, she'd be injured before the next low tide, and the wait would be longer. But for now she nodded a farewell and departed with a smile, intending to call her the next time the swells decreased.

Godot bobbed her head. So they would go on an adventure and see what awesome loot could be nabbed, maybe! It should be interesting, and considering she hadn't walked outside the territory at all recently, it'd be a nice change of pace. It was also probably a good thing Godot had a worse sense of time than most -- she'd barely notice just how long that delay might be. Oh well, for now, time to go off and finish what she was doing!
