eleven days! eyes opening <3

it was her maman the girl saw first, though little chani had no word yet for chacal aside from the deep glissade along her body at the musical voice of her mother.
second was the shafting of light at the denmouth; her eyes stung, her eyes hurt.
and still she held them defiantly open, baby head bobbling, the sun outside the coastal den holding all of her rapt attention.

Etienne was never far from his mama or his baby sisters. So it was with absolute adoration he looked upon Chani as he stepped into the den mouth. He blocked out the wun, but quickly moved once he saw the baby girl's eyes wide.

On tiny steps he moved closer a gentle sound in his throat.

'ello C'ani. he nuzzled her head gently and settled near her. Making sure to greet his manman and Chiro too

the sun became dark! chani whined a bit but not in consternation. she knew this voice and this scent; the sight of her older brother's face was secondary to her trust in him. the girl squirmed away from chiro, burbling gently, beginning to gum at whatever part of his paw was accessible.
taste too, part of her budding experiences.

Eti couldn't quite hide the gasp of surprise and then he smiled as he gently moved his paw closer to her. He bent his downy head to look her over, and breathed in her scent.

Look at you C'ani as big as can be, wit' dose milk teet'

He brushed his other paw across her back with gentle swipes. His laughter filling up the space. IT was good to have little sisters.

chani rolled with a mewl to her back, pawing up at him as she memorized the for-now blurry details of his face.
he held the vision of the grandmother she would never know.
perhaps she looked down upon her grandchildren now. chani's lips became the tiniest smile.

Eti nipped with gentle teeth and lip at her tiny paws. Sure not to hurt her. he'd press kisses to her tiny face and tickle her toes and belly. A gentle laugh deep in his chest, eyes warm and happy.

She was adorable and he loved her with every single fiber of his entire being.

Look at you C'ani beautiful as de sea.

beautiful as the sea.
it remained to be seen what portion of the ocean she would become, but chani was as part of the salt as any girl-child born into its embrace.
but the brother above her, there was no fathoming he would ever be less. chani crooned again, creating a bubble of spit.

A gentle claw as he popped the bubble and blew his own at her. Soft noises and giggles to her soft little belly. He would eventually soothe his touches into a gentle embrace to calm her. No need getting her all excited as little as she was.

chani laughed again, and then yawned.
she nuzzled against etienne, rooting toward his fur for an appendage he did not have! the little girl grew irate, and finally cried in anger for milk! for mother.

LIttle bit of PP let me know if it isn't okay.

With gentle movements. Eti picked up his tiny sister and carried her gently to their manman. She wriggled and moved and screamed, but he managed all the same. Once she was settled next to their mother's belly, he had faith she would find what it was she wanted.

all good! <3 fading <3

her brother returned the child to their mother, and chani wasted no time in filling her belly. sleep was fast to follow, but she turned her head drowsily, cheek pillowed on chacal's flank, and gazed in the direction eti was until her eyes could stay open no longer.
