for @Chacal - backdated a few weeks, other tags for ref

Svalinn couldn’t believe his luck. First, a siren queen had chosen him for her season a couple weeks or so prior, and now Stelmaria had returned with news of Phaska. He still felt slightly disturbed about what they had discussed, but after spending a day with her, he felt satisfied enough to return to Sapphique alone for now. As he trotted along, he wondered what other good things could possibly happen to him, and eventually, inadvertently, his mind turned to @Jorunn.

Instantly, he felt guilty for wondering if she would ever return.

And he would not examine himself deeper as to why he felt that way.

Instead, the sandstone hunted to gain a clear head and had gathered a rabbit and a couple urchins before evening fell again. He would tell @Mireille the news of his daughter’s return at some point, but first, he wished to share it with Chacal.

I didn’t know if you would want to celebrate with a taste of land or sea tonight, he greeted after dropping the two choices at her paws once he’d reached her den. I have good news. And he had better! Especially considering that he had not come home the night before after so religiously inserting himself as her dinner company each night since their coupling.

Mireille’s infant children brought smiles to her face every day, especially when her own tossed and turned within her, sprightly and healthy. She weathered the nausea, and had found that as the days passed, it began to subside. In its place came a more frequent need to urinate, and lower back pain- all symptoms she knew well, and welcomed as signs that everything was going as planned.

Perhaps the biggest change she saw was in Svalinn, who moved with a more pronounced dedication and vigour now that he had children on the way. Chacal debated with herself- fearful of the slight chance that he might become too proud, and that their traditional ways might be challenged; her fidelity to her sister and the pack their mothers had established was strong. She simply hoped she would not have to make any tough choices.

Thus far though, his brightened attitude left her with no concerns. She tilted her head as she reached first for the sea food- and then after a slight wave of nausea, reached for the other meal instead. ”T’ank you for de hare- now; what news ‘ave you to share?” She invited, keen to know what good tidings he brought.
It can be assumed that if Chacal is speaking, she will be singing. Her speaking patterns will always have a melodic quality to them.
