All Welcome

dandelion fluff blew in the gentle air beside warmsalt falls. it was where silvertongue had gathered herself for the day, she and one or more of the children. in times such as these, the woman wished she had other stories to tell, enchanting tales that did not come from a red palace or a pharaoh. but what she had was senet, and she eagerly set up a board of small colored stones for two players, humming as she pulled the memory of that sunlit day and that morose boy into her mind.

Ash had become a wraith among the wolves of Qeya. Avoiding them at all costs. Preferring to commune with her angels and her devils and speak to her gods. She had set up her altars and she had done what she could for her children. And now she was stuck unsure. There was still a haughty tilt to her head. And the way she held her small frame spoke of a prideful woman.

It was silver she came across. Blue eyes lighting across the she wolf and then darting to the board. She gathered her wretched thoughts to her like armor and smiled.

What is this?

to see ash star appear beside her was pleasant. silvertongue had long grown into an appreciation for the woman's elegant silence, the powerful aura which clung to her despite the fact that she was no longer a leader. the altars and their offerings intrigued the vice, who now extended her paw in indication that ash star should join. "this is called senet. it is a game i learned in ak — long ago. which will you play, the grey or the red pieces?"

Ash was not one to share outwardly her own misgivings. She held her self to a higher standard. Often that made her seem cruel and callous. But Silver had been able to see past that.

She stared with interest as She was explaind the game and wondered at it. Taking a moment to sniff at the items on the board.

Grey.

"one piece for one move." silvertongue gestured to a larger stone daubed on both sides with an odd mark. "the one shaped as a tree, that is two spaces. the other, shaped as water, that is one." the woman hummed, realigning her pieces. muzzle plucked up the question-stone, offering it to ash star, and when her companion had taken it, silvertongue smiled. "red is first. drop it to the ground, see what side it lands upon."
