Prey roll: 20, large scavenge!

Dating these out bc I wanted to play with her some tonight <3

Salvation came in the form of an apparent misfortune.  At some point the goat had been scaling the wall, but the stone must have been loose.  The body was partially wedged beneath a heap of scree, but after tearing into the part that was exposed, fennec was able to drag the rest from its partial entombment.  The effort brought back the echo of a similar act, but she drove it from her mind with just a single chill down her back to alert her it had passed.  She was beyond all of that shit now, and for a while longer, she'd survive here.

Her ribs hurt like fuck, but there wasn't much she could do about it.  She hadn't found anything in this canyon to help with the pain and there was no way she was climbing out like this.  If she buried what she could this food might serve her for a couple of weeks at most, but after that, she'd need to move forward.  Plan B was looking more and more attractive each day.  What packs were near here, she wondered?

After eating her fill, Fennec sat down to clean her face and paws carefully and to take a rest before she began to dismantle and hide the majority of the carcass.  Part she would leave open - perhaps, if she drew birds, she could catch one of them unawares too.  She estimated that she was more than far enough away for a howl to not reveal her location... at least, not to those she didn't want finding her.  She'd go home when she was ready, but for now, she was only a witch.  No family, no friends, no safety nets, and no obligations.  Her guilt she shoved aside, firmly locked away and out of sight, until eventually it would hopefully disappear.  They'd be no worse off without her - she'd barely helped anyway.  And she'd be a lot better off without him, because in the end, she was never going to live up to all that.  She didn't even want to try.  Who wants to stand on a pedastal they have no business being on?  Even if that pedestal had felt an awful lot like 'friendship'.  Maybe even something a little more.

Box?  Shut.  Key? Tossed.  Cool.

Her big ears shot backwards as a falcon screeched in the distance.  Fennec's muzzle stretched into a thin smile as her legs extended in front of her.  She would simply lay near the carcass and wait.  Maybe she'd surprise any bird that landed... maybe not.  Maybe she'd chat with them a while.  No one was around to hear, and if what Sialuk said was true, she might get a gift or two out of the bargain.  Even just having some eyes out for scavangeable kills would be more than enough for now.  She settled in, her mind made up and stiller than it had been in days.  This was going to be fine.

She was going to be fine.

Fenn is blind, and as she's older, will take all of her character insight from tone.  If you are ever uncomfortable with an assumption she makes, please let me know!
