looking for a nice slow thread partner who doesn't mind waits for responses!! : ) up to you whether to continue the hunt or steer this a diff direction
Life was good in Firebirds, and Chanel never saw any reason to leave. Wraen had left, which pained her, but ultimately this place had other wonderful individuals who had never caused her any real trouble. All she wanted was peace, and eventually children, but she was fine with taking things one step at a time. No need to hurry life along! Today the rosy girl was strolling when she caught the scent of a fox on the earth. She began to track it casually, wondering if she could find the end, but ultimately not too focused that her concentration couldn't be broken by any particularly loud individual.

After Bronco left, Fennec sat quiet on what they'd spoken about. The month was probably going to crawl by anyway, and she wasn't sure how to approach the subject. The one who she was least sure about? Eljay.
She continued to avoid Niamh, which wasn't hard to do. It meant she rarely saw her younger siblings, which felt a little awful, but it was a sacrifice the selfish girl was more than willing to make. Mostly she just leaned into her training and used that as an excuse for her preoccupation. She didn't have to worry about fixing anything if she was focusing on learning as much as she could.
Today Eljay was too busy for a lesson. Fennec was resigned to lurking the day away, but then she heard the telltale sign of someone stalking something from a space near where she'd chosen for a nap. It didn't sound like her step mother, so she got slowly to her feet and wove around to follow. She wasn't trying to stay out of sight, but she did stay back and match their quiet. She wanted to hear what they were doing.

Fennec moved quietly enough behind her that Chanel didn't notice in this particular case- she was far too interested in hunting. The woman continued to follow the trail, but a different sense alerted her of the pale girl's presence behind her. The fur rising along her spine; the feeling of being watched. She turned her head and caught sight of the quiet girl with the foggy eyes, and offered her a small smile. She smelled of Firebirds, but they hadn't met- and she was happy to pause her tracking to introduce herself,
Hi, I'm Chanel Vasselli. I was tracking this fox scent... do you want to join me?She offered- never having met a blind wolf, and unsure if she was able to hunt or not- but thinking it polite to at least offer.

It wasn't too long before she was noticed, but Chanel seemed to take it in stride. She not only introduced herself but also invited Fennec along.
Fennec wasn't really a hunter at all, but she could certainly track.
If they found it, she could try to help corner it best she could. She stepped forward, not quite entering Chanel's space, and bent down to see if she could catch the scent. Immediately fox flooded her senses and she wrinkled her nose.

Sure. I'm Fennec.She wasn't in the habit of giving her last name, and most knew it here anyway.

Edit Reason: typo
)
The girl wasn't lengthy with her words, but Chanel didn't particularly mind- an introduction and answer was a lot better than nothing at all! Chanel noted Fennec's name, and then continued to move forward along the trail, unintentionally glancing back once with some kind of internal fear she would lose her companion. But Fennec appeared to be following just fine- closer to her, with her nose to the earth. The rosy girl smiled at that, and began to move more quickly, figuring the blonde would follow. At some point the trail started to seem stronger, and Chanel spotted a little flash of red distantly through the trees.
We're close!She whispered under her breath, turning to glance back before crouching slightly to the ground as if to make her figure less noticeable.

If you like, we can wrap this soon! I know things are busy and it's an oldie <3
Fennec continued to listen, tracking silently along until Chanel alerted her that they were closing in. She slunk up, listening carefully, but couldn't hear anything.
Just... tell me were to run. Exactly.She replied back, more of a breath than speaking so as to maintain their cover. She wouldn't be able to see, but she could take off in a direction if it meant they could corner the creature.
In the heat of the moment, Chanel might not want to call orders, but once the chase began stealth hardly mattered. Figment had always adjusted for both of them, though, and Fennec fell into the assumption that Chanel would do the same.
