Neo. Not brother. But. . .  This new information filed itself into her brain, keeping locked down for later use. He was Neo, and he was not her brother. But she could call him that, if she so chose. While Maegi was intrigued at the idea of another sibling, she shook her head silently. She liked Neo better than brother, anyway. It sounded cooler.

"Neo," she repeated, her tiny voice nearly a whisper. Before she could speak again, a dark form exited the trees and made its way toward her, finally standing above and giving her a gentle nudge with her nose. Maegi knew this wolf--she brought food, after all--but did not know her name, only that she was her older sister in some way.

Comforted, she nosed the dark-furred female back in warm delight, closing her eyes to slits and smiling. Neo had brought himself down to her level, his blue eyes incredibly bright. So bright, she noted, like stars.
