Despite his anger, Fennec remained cool and neutral. She didn’t know where this came from still, but as long as it wasn’t directed towards her she didn’t care. He could hate the Pharaoh all he wanted.

It matters because if you are doing this for your pride, then an assassination does nothing. I don’t want to give you this and then have you regret it. The only real betrayal of any emotion was the impatient twitch of her tail. I’m no soldier. I’d rather avoid the costs of battle, but even I know that there’s no honor in that. Most would call it a coward’s way.

She didn’t want to dictate this for him. But she did, silently, want to know more. Before all of this happened she might pay the Pharaoh a visit.

Even if they aren’t an army, if they would follow him over her, you are removing that choice. If you would rather avoid bloodshed than do this honestly, I’m fine with that. I just want to make sure it gives you what you want.

She still didn’t know why Makono mattered, if this was about Mereo’s independence. The could declare themselves isolated and leave Akashingo to sort out their inheritance within its own ranks. And I want to meet him. He was already upset; might as well lay that out now. She’d be doing it with or without his blessing, but she wanted him to know.
Fenn is blind, and as she's older, will take all of her character insight from tone.  If you are ever uncomfortable with an assumption she makes, please let me know!
