Sea Lion Shores when the shadow comes to take me away

Somehow she had managed to find her feet, but when he asked her to come, she took an unsteady step southward. She would not make it any further without his help but her heart sang of home.

She’s home. There was no more explanation than that, but despite the call, she did not have the energy to question. If he took her then she would assume he looked as well, and that together they would find her at the end.

The call of home led to a beach, a much-loved bay and a shore on which they had begun. It was right that she be there, and that together they would race through the surf and on to sunset.
