All Welcome
Perhaps it was by choice—without sight in the womb and then, too, beyond birth, she was not eager to gain it. In keeping with familiarity, she was comfortable. Comfortable to be blind to the world around her, to the faces of the Life-Giver and the other creature that often wriggled at her side. By wanting it so much, she was able to keep the development at bay—but it was not a permanent loss, something she discovered just as the first rays of the morning light were beginning to peer through the den’s mouth.

Blinking—that was new—awake, she turned her head towards the source and stared, as best she could; everything was still so blurry, a mesh of lights and shadows. This development was not necessarily understood, perceived as a mere dream, like so many others that occupied her time whilst she lazed against her mother. Yet, she began to coo curiously at the sunlight anyways, whining and grumbling at it—what was it, anyway?

the coos of her sister awoke her- and soon, she was blinking her eyelids open too. light flooded in; she could make out the forms of others there, though the details were still in a fog-hazed dream. the lump next to her who interrupted the light was the thing emitting the noise that awoke her. and so, feeling a very baby and primal version of annoyance, she rolled closer, intending to lightly swat the loud thing with a tiny paw.

They were growing quickly.  Rosalyn watched them silently, tracking as Solaire swatted her sister.  Her lips quirked into a smile and she felt a gentle, familiar warmth of affection bloom within her.  As they grew, they began to show differences, personalities that would shift and form and carry them to adulthood.  Strange to think how fast time could pass.

As if her thoughts brought her to this, it was then that she noticed Arcelia's eyes.  She shifted, carefully, moving to get a better view.  Welcome, she said, softly as her smile widened to a more genuine expression.

So fast indeed.

feel free to skip me if I hold this up! but I couldn't resist

Interrupted were her soft coos by the swatting of her sister. Startled by the suddenness of it, she loosed a sharp yelp and turned her head in search of the culprit. With sight still so new and still so blurry, she could only barely make out the shadow that was her sister—over to which she moseyed, grumbling all the while. Much like she frequently attempted to do come feeding time, Arcelia intended to butt her head against the other child; a tiny bulldozer, wriggling and squirming. Focused—or as focused as a whelp could be—on the task at hand, she was yet to take notice to the other, far larger shadow lurking nearby.

the thing came closer in turn, quite literally rearing its ugly head. she could see the head bump coming- and yet was still too foolish still to try and avoid it. there it came, and solaire's mouth quirked oddly, as if she was perplexed. should she be annoyed? or join in as if playing? stubby tail began to wag then as she decided the latter option was best, and she came forward now to the pale girl, hoping to butt her own golden head against her shoulder. let the games begin.
